    I think the traffic figures referenced in the email in question were from the BlogAds hive, which tend to follow SiteMeter stats, more or less.

    The other thing about the inaccuracy of web stats these days is that a lot of people that are more serious blog readers use RSS, which many times can skew stats dramatically.

    1000 people reading MNpublius via Bloglines, Google Reader or LiveJournal syndication translates to only a few uniques a day.

    Honestly, I don’t like parading out stats but when they’re so drastically underestimated it can hurt how we’re perceived.
