[...] Its an entirely fair request. Remember, this is a guy who first said that Paul Wellstone lacked the “judgment” necessary to be a Senator because of his support of the Iraq War (popularity of the war: 80%+); then split the baby on the surge, claiming he was against it in Baghdad but for it in Anbar (popularity of the war: >40%); and now says America’s commitment in Iraq is “not open ended” (popularity of the war: slightly lower than the clap).
For Ivor the engine driver.

"drug our perception of ourselves" Well, that's what illegal drugs do, they alter perceptions. Similarly, Bush, Limbaugh, Cheney et al alter our perceptions of ourselves with chauvinistic lies. They are like drugs. Nasty ones.... Oh, wait a second. Were you by chance trying to use the word "dragged"? My mistake.

Funny you should mention talk show hosts talking to hear themselves....take a moment to read the comment I have written under the "people are complaining" post.

Can't wait to see if Matt has anything to say.

One thing I've learned is that blogs are *NEVER* genuinely rational voices, as much as I (and others) might wish them to be. It takes only nanoseconds of reading any political blog to figure out that there are moronic idiots galore on both sides of the political aisle, who unfortunately wouldn't know reasonable discourse if it bit them in the butt. It's why I try to only infrequently indulge my interest in reading them (and I've spent far too much time today).

The only thing worse (IMHO) is the vast majority of talk radio programs, populated by a whole world of people (mostly the hosts) who only want to hear themselves yammer on and on (and on and on and on).

"But it takes only a very slight twist of context to make the shift and it hardly warrants anyone getting their undies in such a bunch over it."

Hey, I won't lose any sleep over it. But I was under the impression that this blog likes to tout itself as a genuinely rational voice of the otherwise laughably oxymoronic "reality based community".

If that's true, why twist the context at all? And moreover, why go on to defend it with kindergarden logic?

The insult was clear in it's untwisted, natural state..all the rest is nothing more than more moonbat babbling.

And yes, I know the second "with" was wrong...proofreading was an early victim of communicating in the fast lane.
