Richardson Has Great Ads

Great new ads for Bill Richardson’s Presidential campaign. Still tough to see this guy winning the nomination, but I am becoming a pretty big fan.

  • I’ve heard Richardson talk on radio a number of times and read a few things he has written and he is far and away my favorite among the Democratic candidates. If the Democrats nominate Obama or Clinton it just proves they are all about playing the game and not about picking the best candidate.

My opinion is he is the smartest of the candidates, the most qualified and far and away the best leader.

I say this as a fierce independent that voted for Hutchinson, take it or leave it.

  • He’s undoubtedly the most qualified and best candidate for the job. Those are pretty good ads, actually.

  • He’s also running a very shrewd campaign - so far. Putting ads out this early, and letting them percolate through the blogoshphere is a very, very good use of his limited campaign war chest at this point. He certainly won’t get that kind of play off his ads come, say, this December. Meanwhile, he’s raised a very respectable sum of money - it would have been a knock-out number four years ago - and that should keep him in the game for a while.

I guess the question is - will any of the people saying what great ads he has, will any of them be willing to jump ship from the more “established” candidates to take a wild jab at this whole thing. The interesting thing about Richardson - unlike past second tier candidates - is that it’s not hard to imagine him in the top tier. This ain’t no Dick Luger, and I wish him well (and I wished it with a credit card donation - full disclosure).

That’s just bull. I have plenty of criticism for both Obama and especially Clinton, but they can’t just be dismissed because they are leading the pack. It seems so easy to look at the candidates getting the most attention and diss them. If Richardson was one of the top two, we would have people saying the exact same type of things, mainly because we would know so much more about him, in which someone would throw a hissy over.

Richardson is very qualified, but he also has the luxury right now of not having the microscope on his life.

  • I agree wholeheartedly with Eric. this guys should be our nominee.

  • Richardson IS qualified. With Obama and Clinton that fact is questionable. Obama is a first term senator and the other is on her second term of her first elected office. The reason they are leading the pack at this point is that they make good stories and or have kissed every ass from here to Tokyo.

Think of it this way, if Richardson is the best candidate why would he not be a front runner if it isn’t the typical big party BS that gave us Kerry?
