So, it’s my last day as Producer at Air America Minnesota as I’ll be moving onto UPenn Law soon, and I felt a post was warranted. The long sappy version is after the break, but I need to put a little promo above the break here. I designed the new Mark Heaney Show website and I’m pretty happy with how it looks. So, give it a glance and tune into the Mark Heaney Show on AM 950; it keeps getting better and better. If you’re in the mood for some sappy shout-outs and a little insight into the innards of AM 950, continue below the fold.
As I write this I’m about to go on the air for my last time as the producer of Minnesota Matters on Air America Minnesota, AM 950. I took the job in January of this year knowing that I would be leaving for law school in the fall. What I didn’t know is what was in store for me. I had no experience in radio other than having been on a couple shows a couple times but Janet Roberts and Mark Heaney had faith that my political knowledge would make up for my lack of radio experience. After 6 months at Air America Minnesota I can confidently say that it has been an amazing experience. Whether or not someone agrees with the progressive agenda that Air America openly adheres to, I would implore everyone to respect the honest, hard work that the employees of Air America put in every day just to pursue what they believe.
Janet Roberts has gotten some flack in the media but after working with her for half a year I want to put all that to rest. Simply put, Janet is an amazing woman. She could, almost literally, be doing anything she wants but instead invested her own money and time into an endeavor that was risky as best. Why? Because she believes in the cause and is willing to fight for it. It is truly admirable to see the drive and determination she pours into every facet of this business. I have no need to shower her with this praise, I’m done working for her, but I want people to know this.
I have worked most closely with Mark Heaney, who is the host of the program I produced, and I need to shower similar praise upon him. Mark has selflessly devoted himself to the program when he has little motive to do so other than conviction. Mark has a successful law practice that certainly does not leave him with much personal time; yet he takes hours out of his day, everyday, to broadcast to the Twin Cities. As he moves into a period of renewed commitment to the show, I wish him the best luck and look forward to being able to pick up The Mark Heaney Show anywhere in the nation.
To everyone else: give AM 950 a listen and visit Mark’s new site.

Thanks Matt……..
“see ya” around
Matt,
Great work on Minnesota Matters and MN Publius. Best of luck in law school.
I appreciate it guys and I fully intend to keep blogging from afar.
Good luck Matt. I listen to Minnesota Matters every day, and it’s very entertaining and informative. AM 950 has grown quite a bit over the last couple of years, and it will continue to grow, and so will Mark’s show, in part thanks to your hard work.
(Awesome Show) Great Job!
