Not Sayin’, but Just Sayin’…

In case anyone in Minnesota missed the offer that Larry Flynt put up in the Washington Post a couple weeks ago, here it is:

Reward1

In case you can’t read the above, the gist of it is that you can be the proud owner of $1 million if you can provide verifiable proof that you’ve had a sexual encounter with a current member of the United States Congress. So, Minnesota, got anything for Mr. Flynt?

    Matt:

    Why did you post this?

  2. 2 2 anon

He probably posted this because Norm Coleman is a well documented Smarm-ass.

Larry says he had “30 solid leads” including one Senator he says he was “shocked” by. Who could it be? My gut tells me it’s probably a republican ‘family values” type.

Flynt says he might just release all 30 names at once. Wouldn’t that be a corker?

The transcript of Larry Flynt on Larry King last night is found here. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0707/17/lkl.01.html

I love this guy. Maybe the shocker is a woman. I don’t know who would be surprised by a Bible thumper having an affair at this point. Hillary anybody? Now that would be funny.

Best laugh I have had all day!!! ;)

Michael: I just felt as though Minnesota should have its fair chance at playing a part in this civil discourse. I know it’s the Republican party’s official plan of attack to disenfranchise and isolate American citizens, but I feel differently.

I’m rather appalled by this. Larry Flynt is a misogynist. His magazine has glorified rape and has even depicted a naked woman going through a meat grinder. Are Democrats really proud that Larry Flynt is the next poster child of their party?

  8. 8 8 Zack

Chris, C’mon. Larry Flynt is targeting Dems too. It is beyond ridiculous to call him the poster child of the Democratic Party. Rumors of Sen. Coleman’s indiscretions are rampant in Minnesota, I think some of us are just wondering if the time for verification has finally arrived.

    Zack,

You want to throw down the gauntlet then fine. Let’s see if Flynt will talk to Juanita Broderick or Kathleen Willey. BTW, I have never seen Flynt target a single democrat. Is this guy, who glorifies rape, child abuse and misogyny really who you want on your side? http://www.hustlingtheleft.com/

    Chris,

We’ve seen over and over again, perverse, hypocritical Republicans get caught. Vitter, for example, doesn’t seem that remorseful, its as if he’s just upset that he got caught. I’m sure Flynts magazine sales would plummet if Republicans would boycott his magazine.

    Here’s a list for you. http://www.dkosopedia.com/wiki/Republican_Sex_Scandals

    Interesting list Nitro.

To be fair, I’m sure the Dem’s list would be just as long. Heck, 3 of the 4 most recent Democratic president’s were known to be cheating while in office. That said, the hypocrisy of some of those that are advocating one thing and then doing the opposite is disturbing.

I see hypocrisy all right. I find it interesting that in the post-modern world the Dems want us all to inhabit, where consensual relations between adults, married or not, are off-limits (“move on”), they have no problem continuing to focus on the sex lives of politicians. I thought this stuff was a non-issue for you enlightened post-modern moral relativists. Why the sudden interest now?

  13. 13 13 A Nony Moose

    “Why the sudden interest now?”

Self interest is the guiding principal on both sides.

My understanding of Flynt is that he doesn’t want to expose politicians for the sake of exposing them - he wants to expose hypocrisy. If a politician believes that peoples’ personal lives (and their sexual proclivities) are their own business and should be free from government interference, then Flynt is not going to expose them. If a politician is beating the family values drum and making peoples’s personal lives the public’s business, they are fair game. Remember, Flynt obtained nude photos of Jessica Lynch, but ultimately decided not to publish them.

Vitter got exposed because he has been at the forefront of the family values movement, and has made it his business to decide who should be allowed to have their marriages recognized. According to Vitter, two men or two women in a committed, loving relationship should not have their relationship recognized by the government. But a heterosexual marriage where one spouse cheats on the other with whores is just fine. Hmmmmm.

You don’t have to endorse Flynt’s whole agenda to enjoy watching him sticking it to Republican hypocrites.

Considering how the last Democrat ran the country, compared to the current Republican who has been faithful to his wife….

  16. 16 16 Richard

The Vitter episode is a move in the right direction for Republicans. They’re back to screwing women again. Kudo’s Senator Vitter for taking the moral high ground and not going along with the rest of the Republican crowd.

  17. 17 17 Rick

I predict a quick end for Senator Vitter. The people of Louisiana are a forgiving bunch - they reelected a crrok caught cold with $100 K in the freezer and have always been tolerant of a little bribery and fooling around.

But this Diaperman stuff has got to embarass even them!!

  18. 18 18 Eva Young

There will probably be a float commemorating the l’affaire Vitter at mardis gras.

  19. 19 19 Richard

Isn’t there an old saying in Louisiana, “The only thing I trust less then a Louisiana Senator sleeping with whores is a Louisiana Senator who’s not sleeping with whores”
