Purpledog...

I absolutely DO think that pictures with Bush in the paper would be an issue for Norm.

Graphics are important to the message. If they can be shown together in the paper - it underscores the connection once again.

Its been the case as Bush goes stumping around the country for candidates - the association goes only to the core with the money.

They just don't want to help with broader coverage. It hurts at least as much as it helps, to wear the Bush Albatross...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/blog/2005/09/15/BL2005091501098.html

Rove was in charge of the reconstruction effort or lack thereof.

Yes, Coleman will be very careful about who he gets his picture taken with all the way up to the day he's lost the election.

The idiot-and-chief could offer the AG job to a Senator in trouble in a blue state to prop up his meat puppet.

I see Norm is also giving up Craig's money:

It would be interesting to know if he received money from Vitter, and if he's giving that up as well.

Mockingbird,
Do you really believe:
1. Coleman cares if pictures numbering #15,067..15,210 of he and the President get taken?
2. Karl Rove was in charge of FEMA?
3. The President would offer the AG job to a Blue state senator in a reelection year 15 months from Crawford?
Really!

Norm is the perfect candidate for AG.

Norm is a well know empty vessel who can pretend to be anything he sets his mind to. Norm knows exactly who brung him to the party. He learned all his dance moves from Carl Rove, and knows all the steps by heart.

He will be a loyal dance partner for Bush!

Normy --- Heck of a job, Normy...

Sure. These days - let's look at qualifications for any job:

Most companies want involved degrees to substantiate an applicant's suitability with a piece of paper, never mind if they've done the work before - do they have ACCREDITATION saying they could do the work?

This has become chronic to the point of no culpability for the hiring company in the employee selection process.

No so, in the Bush administration.
They are singular in selecting the most inept cronies for the most technically challenging positions. Thus Normy might suit them extremely well for just about anything...

Bush came to stump for loyalist Normy. But they were careful not to be photographed together - is that CURIOUS?

Will Norm instead be the replacement for that pillar of post-Katrina success: Karl Rove? (In charge of funneling Katrina contracts?)

Since Karl left, and was IN CHARGE of Katrina recovery...
well, that job must be done, or milked of all the money that can be siphoned for Jeb Bush companies, etc...

Go for it, Normy.

Oh, and the fact that if Vitter had resigned, Louisiana Democrat Gov. Kathleen Blanco would probably have appointed a Democrat to replace Vitter.
Idaho's Governor is currently Republican CL "They call me Butch because I like killing grey wolves" Otter.

--Noah

Noah wins our grand prize! In case anyone was curious as to why Republicans were tight lipped on Vitter, Noah hit the nail on the head.

Because he was going to be replaced by a Democrat!

A fine upstanding man Senator Coleman is! An honest commited relationship, wife at home, always by his side or in the kitchen, a wholesome vision of a stereotypical nuclear family, no philandering that any neighbors have ever noted...NOT!
