Richard - that’s pretty funny! (MDE is lame) If this is how he operates, I hope we do see Paulsen as the GOP nominee. (MDE is lame) Love to see the seat go DFL. (MDE is embarrassing to read) But mocking Paulsen for this quote is making much ado about very little. (MDE is what’s wrong with politics) On the off chance that Brodkorb is trolling blog comments for any signs of dissent within DFL-supporters, I will now go back and insert something throughout this comment for his benefit. If only to make copying/pasting more difficult for him.

Hold on. I read that quote, and laughed at the syntax. Then I listened to the quote in the MPR piece. Written as a verbatim quote, it reads much worse without the verbal inflections and pauses. Was it a sterling piece of political smooth-talking? No. Was it a bumbling, incoherent statement? No. President Bush has the same problem with not completing thoughts, phrases and sentences before veering off into other thoughts. Paulsen didn’t sound anywhere near as foolish as Bush frequently does.
