The second reason is that the Democrats in congress have more or less failed to give anything but the most feeble attempt to do what they said they were going to do before the election. That and the highest profile Democrat, Hillary, continues to beat the same war drum Bush does because she thinks it will help her in the general election. In the end the Democrats not only have Republicans mad at them but independents and anti-war Democrats as well.
