Pallmeyer Lit Piece: Santa and Brodkorb Together At Last

If you were to have asked me yesterday would Santa Claus and Mike Michael Brodkorb ever be in the same general area at the same time I would have told you only if St. Nick was dropping off a lump of coal for our favorite right wing paid political operative.

I was wrong. (Click for a larger picture)

I think the look on MDE’s face would be best described as “truculent”.

Sean adds: and I mean really, how fitting is this if there is anyone whose campaign has the transformative power to bring together Santa and the Crown Prince of Icky, it’s JNPizzle. Let’s send Jack to Washington, if he can get these two together, then the sky is the limit.

  • Sean: This is really funny. Nice work. Can I use this picture on my blog if I source you?

    Thanks for the laugh.

  • Mike and Santa is great, but you know what would be better?

Michael and “a bug”….as in Mike squashing another Democrat weasel (Mark Ritchie) like..”“.

If you don’t have anything like that on hand don’t fret; the newspapers will no doubt be providing some great material along thoe lines.

BTW Mike, just how many Democrats have you splashed so far?

  • Anyone smell that?

    It’s Swiftless spoiling another moment.

  • What gets me is how he did this?? I just thought Michael WAS Santa with all the good news he posts on his blog! :)

  • You guys are unbelieveable.

Your beloved Secretary of State is under a giant microscope for unethical activity, after pledging to the taxpayers and the voters (and they are 2 different entities) that he would run the office in a non-partisan fashion.

And your blog posts photos of Michael Brodkorb at JNP’s announcement. You really think that’s news.

You folks should be ashamed of yourselves.

Between that and your affinity for Al Franken, anybody with an IQ above 30 who takes this blog seriously is an utter and total idiot.

MN Publius’ inability to show something intelligent is bordering on criminal.

  • “Tracking the Status of MN Politics”

What are you tracking by posting photos of Brodkorb at a campaign annoucement?

Why don’t you “track” the allegations against SoS Mark Ritchie?

He ran under the DFL banner — -don’t you generally apologi…..I mean…..defend these folks?

Keep up the “work” Publius, you continue to show how unintelligent and misinformed most of the MN voters are.

Reason # 1 to eliminate same day voter registration.

  • Swiftee:
Why, Brodkerb tried to squash Klobuchar, Walz, Ritchie in the actual election…

  • John S. - Any idea why this site will not shad any light on the Ritchie story of him using his office campaigning for money??

Seems to me it looks like Mr. Ritchie could be in some hot water yet the silence about it on left leaning sites is just amazing. :)

  • Why don’t we shad any light on the story?

Because I forgot all of my cedar planks for grilling in my other pants.

And has been said before by me and others: this site ain’t MDE. It needs more than Ron Carey’s say-so to consider something news. What Carey/Brodkerb(They say the same thing, they might as well be the same person) wants, and what actual happens, tend to be two very different things.

It is a matter of public record that Brodkerb has taken large sums of money from campaigns he has blogged favorably on. He may parse words like Bill Clinton to say how he is not an employee of the MN GOP, but when you take money from their candidates, and produce copy that boasts them, it looks like employment to we regular folks.

  • Side step the issue at hand all you want.

MN Publius proclaims that they “track the status of MN politics.”

The presiding official over free, clean and fair elections in a state that consistently has high voter turnout and same-day voter rgistration is accused of using his elected office for political gain.

    Track that.

    Explain that.

Spin it all you want — blame MDE — scapegoat Broadkorb — eventually, you’ll probably balme GW Bush.

    Where’s the report?

  • Do you know how you can tell the Ritche story is a non-story? Because the elected official leading the charge is nutbag Tom Emmer.

  • LOLOLS

I love it. The righties are pushing some pretty weak bullshit, and that seems to be their top priority.

    Great job!

That’s what Brodkorb gets paid to do, and it’s just money coming out of the righties pockets for complete and utter crap, like it usually does. It’s freaking awesome.

Keep up the great work. I’m sure you’re insuring your permanent minority status.

  • Dan:

Tom Emmer is to the right as Paul Wellstone is to the left.

Like him or hate him — -he is following a story that IS news.

If this story is hard for the DFL to internalize; sorry.

There is a reason to believe that impropriety took place within the SoS office.

If you can’t see that beyond your partisan blinders, lots of luck in life.

  • A couple of questions. Is what Richie is accused of illegal? Has Richie’s accusers come forward and said that what he is accused of is a crime? Has Brokrob satisfactorily answered all the questions concerning the persistant rumours of his barnyard buggery?

  • Richard,

Are the only actions of interest by politicians crimes?

With Ritchie it seems like there is a good chance he directly took information from an official Secretary of State function to use for fund raising purposes. Even if the information becomes public after the event his campaign office would need to file for and most likely pay for the information like any other private party. If they did this there should be a record of the transaction and this will all be shown to be nothing.

The fact that Ritchie played up how he would act as a perfectly non-partisan secretary of state and protect the integrity of the office from the personal goals of the office holder makes it look especially bad.

  • I’m not sure, it seems a little like “inside baseball” to me. A controversy simply for controversy’s sake is in no one’s best interest. If he did what he did and it’s a crime then have at it. If it’s just unseemly and just something one party doesn’t like then it’s not really of any interest to me or most peoples. Brodkrob is playing games though and by making the accusation and hypeing it up to ridiculous levels he is most likely staging himself for working for Richie’s next opponent. Plus the whole barnyard buggery thing really is something Brodkrob needs to address.

  • I’d like to point out that a lot of mud gets slung on political blogs, but none of it seems to stick to Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer. Read the above or watch for the next one or the one after that. Jack just doesn’t have negatives stick to him. It seems to very senatorial, somehow.

  • Richard,

I agree about MDE’s motivations. I do think however that since our elected officials are the ones making the laws we need to have a higher standard than an action simply being legal or illegal. This is true whether or not most people are paying attention.

  • Anybody here seen my old friend Dean johnson?
Can you tell me where he’s gone?
He lied about some judges; these moonbats are too stupid to learn…
I just looked around and he’s gone

Anybody here seen my old friend Matt Entenza?
Can you tell me where he’s gone?
He paid a lot to dig a little dirt, you know his missus is floating in HMO cash
I just looked around and he’s gone

Anybody here seen my old friend Mike Hatch?
Can you tell me where he’s gone?
He disgraced himself and his party, just look; the holes they’ve dug
You know I just looked around and MDE has squished him like a bug.

Anybody here seen my old friend Markie Ritchie?
Can you tell me where he’s gone?
I thought I saw him walkin’ out to the political graveyard
    With Dean, Matty, and Mikey……

  • The righties are so LONELY.
The need to come here to get their love out to the world!

    LOL

  • Tom forgot Mark Olson, the crazy christian wife beater.

  • Mocking bird you admittin’ this is a lefty site then? ;)

  • I had not been able to see his picture clearly on the web, but I just looked carefully at the same picture on the campaign lit piece. It turns out that Santa’s other name is Ralph. He is a regular on the Vets for Peace bus every November down to Ft. Benning, Georgia, trying to close the School of the Americas. (You know, the U.S. facility where they train death squad and torture leaders for the Latin American military.)

Well, it turns out that “Santa” and I are both going down on that bus. Not only that, we will be rooming together in Georgia. I feel so honored! Michael Brodkorb, aren’t you jealous?

  • Charley, you need to grab little mikey by the short hairs and haul his sorry ass down to Ft Benning. Maybe you can teach his ignorant ass a thing or two.
