Al Gets Good Press In Albert Lea

Al Franken got some nice outstate press in Albert Lea earlier this week.

It’s time for America to return to the time where it was the most respected nation in the world, U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken said Saturday during a campaign rally at the Ramada Inn in Albert Lea.

The comedian and commentator said for this to happen, President George W. Bush and others like current U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, who he said have enabled the Bush administration, need to be replaced.

“There’s nothing wrong in America that can’t be fixed by what’s right in America,” Franken said, quoting former Democratic President Bill Clinton. “When you take these guys on and the truth is on your side, you can win.”

Addressing a crowd of at least 75 people, he spoke briefly on topics such as his origins in Albert Lea, health care and the Iraq War.

Al has spent a great deal of time introducing himself to those outstate and I think as the polls show it is paying off. Tim Walz teaches us that a progressive can win outstate. Al is a progressive and we need a progressive back in the United States Senate. Go Al!!
