  • MN Publius, this is an amazingly powerful video.

My comment about Mr. Aplikowski’s interview where he called Senator Obama “boy” and claimed that Obama is Muslin should have been left in this post. I left a comment on MDE that before he starts attcking Democrats, he should clean up his own party.

This is what Mr. Aplikowski, a Republican leader, said about Senator Obama in an interview with Minnesota Monitor.

“I am a bit worried about your boy Obama though. He used to worship that Allah, and his middle-name is Hussein. Coincidence????

Those kind of people are nuts, and the last thing we need is another Muslim in DC, let alone the White house. Ellison is enough. It scares me to even think about what he is sending thru CAIR to bin Laden and Iran. I bet Obama would sign a new NATO-esque agreement with Syria and Iran and attack Europe and Israel.

Anyone but a Democrat I suppose would be just dandy. Unless Shrillary could shed about 50 pounds and drop the sourthern twang. Then, well, maybe. I would just love to see how Slick Willy sneaks “nappy headed hoes” into the Oval Office behind her back now.”

  • WOW!!!!

Visuals of a Father who inspired a Nation combined with humble and powerful words.

This ad is inspiring as it is profound. BRILLIANT!!!

  • Zack: How important is Caroline Kennedy’s endorsement?

  • Michael -

You have a point, Caroline alone doesn’t mean much, but I have to say the ad is good, and the message will resonate. I don’t think a GOP candidate could pull off this sort of ad.

  • I’m not saying that an endorsement doesn’t matter, rather I’m interested in Zack’s opinion (or other DFLers that comment on this post) on how significant he views Caroline Kennedy’s endorsement.

  • I am a big Obama suporter, but right now I’m feeling pessimistic. I think Hillary’s coalition of the old, the poor and the uneducated might just carry the day next week.

If that happens and Hillary gets the endorsement, we will lose this race and Minnesota will go Republican for the first time since 1972 (although even then we were the closest state other than Massachusetts to going for McGovern). If Hillary is the candidate, I, a lifelong Democrat, will write in Al Gore (even though very disapointed by his “no endorsement” strategy).

Where is George McGovern when we need him??

  • I think it is a powerful ad because it makes the link to a young generation. JFK represents the changing of the guard of his generation and perhaps Obama can be the same in 2008. I like the ad and hope it will inspire young people at the same time i enables boomers to vote for someone who truly may be a ‘uniter not a divider’.
    We’ll see.
    See you at the caucus!
