Breaking: Congressman Oberstar Endorses Obama

The Dean of Minnesota’s congressional delegation had previously endorsed Edwards.  Hopefully, this is a sign of where Range support is moving in the aftermath of Edwards’ exit.

Great news!! I was hoping this would happen. Add one more superdelagate count for Obama.

Mydd says Moveon.org is backing Obama now as well. 3.2 million grassroots folks should give him a bit of an uptick.

Having Oberstar’s endorsement is big for Obama. Anyone who doubts that does not know much about northeastern Minn politics. I’ll be curious to see where Collin Peterson and Tim Walz land, if at all.

(IMO only - MoveOn’s endorsement will hardly be noticed up there, except maybe by the 1% of people who care what they have to say. Okay MoveOn supporters — let me have it;-). )

I believe that the Kennedy endorsement from Ted and Caroline will have more pull than from Moveon will.

Who knows!! There may be Republicans who may join the Obama bandwagon than support the lukewarm McCain train.

Congressman Walz may be playing a ‘supportive’ role in some campaigns, but I don’t expect to see him make endorsements.

I think Caroline Kennedy’s endorsement has more impact than Senator Kennedy’s, and might be especially effective with women, especially those of us that are old enough to remember the ‘Camelot’ White House, and took our kindergarten naps listening to Kennedy - Nixon debates on the radio.

Her commentary in the New York Times was very well written, and because she’s an author and not an elected official, she does fewer endorsements, which makes this one more meaningful.

The timing also seemed very calculated to maximize the impact when Senator Obama’s numbers are rising - and need to keep good momentum to give him credibility in this now two-horse race.
