Happy Super Fat Tuesday
NOW GO CAUCUS!
Matt Adds: I’m stuck in Philadelphia on this amazing occasion in Minnesota politics; so, if anyone would like to post their experiences today in the comments, I’d love to live vicariously through you. Also, if anyone takes pictures of polling places, election commotion, or just pictures of Presidential politics in Minnesota, I’ll be happy to post them. Send them to: tips [at] MNpublius.com The preceding especially applies to pictures from parties tonight. Ughhhh, I wish I were home sweet home…

Democrats should keep in mind what could likely happen if Hillary and McCain are the nominees. The independents who will decide the election this coming November will without a doubt tend to side with McCain. You can talk about policy, health-care, economics and George Bush all you want but McCain has a reputation of being more independent from his party than Hillary does from hers and the fact that most voters really dislike both parties makes that fact is a big plus. On Iraq the major difference between McCain and Clinton is that at least McCain has been consistent and not running away from his vote on the war. Clinton doesn’t have any better solution to where we are now in Iraq, has been hawkish on Iran and refuses to say her vote was a mistake.
Clinton getting the nomination will simply prove once again that the only thing keeping the Democrats from winning an election is the Democrats. Obama can change that.

That is why you should caucus for Obama tonight, and not for Ron Paul!
The U of M is just covered with Obama gear, and 5 of my Republican friends are crossing on over to the good side to vote for Obama! I haven’t been this excited about an election since… I don’t know when?
Early early exit polls are showing Obama winning a lot of close states, but who knows how reliable they are, especially with such small margins. Look over at openleft.com for the numbers.
It’s an unfair comparison, of course, I know methodology has been tweaked, but whenever I hear about exit polls it always reminds me of that titanic landslide Kerry was heading for back in ‘04.
I’m an Obama supporter, but there’s absolutely no way these are indicative numbers.
Hil-la-ry! Hil-la-ry!
I’m in Kansas. What’s going on in Minnesota?
Olmsted county went about 65% for Obama 35% for Clinton. My Caucus had lines that went out and around the block, at least 2200 people!
In fact, more people voted for Hillary alone than voted at the caucuses all together last time.
WHOO HOO!!
Ramsey Jr. High on Summit Avenue in St. Paul ran out of ballots tonights, so they had people making their own. I don’t know totals from the other precincts, but Obama beat Hillary 180-77 amidst record turnout in W1-P13
