A few more Minnesota endorsements for the Illinois Senator.
State Auditor Rebecca Otto
House Majority Leader Tony Sertich
State Senator Ellen Anderson
State Senator Mee Moua
State Senator Patricia Torres Ray
State Representative Tom Anzelc
State Representative Maria Ruud
State Representative Sandy Wollschlager
Obviously, none of these endorsements will have much of an effect on Tuesday’s voting, but I wanted to post them for a couple of reasons:
- Sertich and Anzelc are two Range legislators who previously backed Edwards. Along with Oberstar, this is further evidence that Edwards’ Range strength might be shifting Obama’s way. Edwards’ loudest Ranger, Tom Rukavina, has yet to endorse a new candidate.
- Endorsements really are a two way street. They say as much about the endorser as they do the endorsee. Somtimes they have a dramatic effect on the endorser (witness Randy Kelly), and even though that is unlikely to be the case with any of these people, I think it tells us a little about them. Thats especially handy because some of them (Sertich, Otto, Moua, etc…) are often considered to be candidates for higher office. I already liked these people (seriously, some of my favorite legislators are on this list) but now I like them a little bit more.

Keillor Endorsed Obama too. http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=496082
Rep. Tom Anzelc endorsed Obama two weeks ago and hadn’t endorsed anyone else prior to that.
Many of the Range legislators were and remain uncommitted. Most of them were going to quietly vote Edwards because they didn’t want to make a decision on the tough Clinton/Obama split. Rukavina won’t endorse anyone before tomorrow.

I am also proudly supporting Obama. I gave word to the campaign Friday.
Rep. Anzelc and I represent the north-south bookends of the 8th CD.
Sen. Mee Moua is a Super Delegate, so that makes a huge difference, in terms of “endorsements” having meaning.
