"Norm has been a sock puppet for this failed administration."

Huh??? Norm Coleman is the 43rd most conservative Republican Senator out of the 47. In other words, he is the 5th most liberal Republican Senator in Washington, based on his votes.

He votes with Kent Conrad and Jim Webb more often than he votes with the extreme members of his own party.

You may have reasons for not liking Norm Coleman. But if you main reason is that he is some kind of Bush "lapdog", you are simply believing what you're being told at cocktail parties and not thinking for yourself.

Grams is mad because Norm is "MODERATE?"
Is that a spin tactic, or what?

Norm has been a sock puppet for this failed administration.

The mess we are in today is owed to Norm.
For being a rubber stamp sock puppet of the guy with 29% approval rating & probably the worst president ever.

Heck of a Legacy, Norm. And Grams wants to make it worse still?

Yeah.
Grams running as an independent.

Whoopeee. DemureOne & all the rest so deeply outraged about an old article they've never read, but are afraid they will have to make their young kids read...

will have someone to vote for!

If its the MN DFL who wants rid of Franken - an unproven accusation, then Franken is not truly an insider. That's GOOD news.

The GOP is pretty nasty in this.

KARL ROVE - scummy as he is, in Minnesota.
Now THAT speaks volumes about the right wing!!!!

Speaking of independents. We should be worrying about Barkley/Ventura. Both say that they'll run if the other doesn't. Both could kill the dems this year. Should be interesting.

Perhaps Grams, Mark Kennedy and Alan Fine could all run as independents. If we can split the Republican vote by enough even Franken can win...

The senate race is less about Franken or Pall-Meyer then about getting rid of Corporate Norm. Whomeever, they've got my vote.

I wonder how DFL leadership will like the result of every Franken supporter sitting on their hands over such nonsense. JNP wins fair and square, I will support him. Mike Cerisi wins fair and square, I'll support him. Either of these candidates win by hook or crook and I sit on my hands for the Senate campaign. I don't think I'm alone in thinking that even though I dislike Norm the Weasel more than most.

When is Publius going to post about the "conference call" that took place among the DFL establishment last week and their resolution to the Franken matter?

It is no longer a secret, you might as well talk about it, even Republicans know about it.

For those who don't know the DFL "leadership" has decided to take Franken down. The DFL staff has leaked some campaign ending material to the state GOP. We can expect the GOP launch this stuff on Monday. Keep in mind that this new info came from the DFL.

So much for politics being a team sport.

I'm a bit confused by all the talk about Norm not being moderate. True, he isn't a moderate in the fashion of Ramstad or Lincoln Chafee, but if you lined up all of the Republican Senators based on ideology, Norm would easily be on the left half of the line. Maybe even the left-most quarter. He isn't an ideologue.

I agree, though, a guy like Grams would pull enough votes to make it interesting. As much as I respect Grams, though, it seems like he is grasping at straws. Didn't he run against Oberstar in 06? That is what you call a sacrificial lamb candidacy.
