Not that anyone should be surprised, but Rep. Michele Bachmann is spreading more debunked conspiracy theories as thought they are fact. As an introduction to this strange affair, feel free to watch the below video from Dump Bachmann:
In case you missed that, here’s the money quote: “So American must begin to explore and take advantage of offshore energy development. If we don’t other countries will – in fact they’ve already started with the help of Cuba, China is procuring oil 45 miles off the Florida coast.”
Problem is that’s so wrong that even Dick Cheney’s office issued a correction, as did former Chairman of the RNC, Senator Mel Martinez stating that, “Any talk of using some fabricated Cuba-China connection as an argument to change U.S. policy has no merit… Reports to the contrary are simply false. They are akin to urban legends.” [Miami Herald, 6/12/08]

Another Republican embarrassment for Minnesota. You can tell she is a Republican because she can lie with such conviction… must have taken lessons from Norm Coleman.
amuseinc, comparing Rep. Bachmann to Senator Coleman is inaccurate. Rep. Bachmann has consistently been the sworn enemy of reality. Can you honestly say that “consistently” is ever a word that describes anything Senator Coleman has done (okay, pander for votes, but apart from that)?
Randy now what one darn minute there. Norm Coleman has consistently thrown his beliefs, ideals and supporters under the bus as soon he thinks there is a better offer available. There is consistency in constantly looking to have your bread buttered in exchange for your temporary loyalty. Just ask the city of St. Paul or the Republicans once it becomes apparent they can’t do anything for him anymore. I’ll be waiting for Norm Coleman to become a strong voice for the Green Party in the near future.
I wonder what her travesty could possibly say in front of a camera that would surprise me? Cause at this point she is pulling out all the stops. MN Repubs must be so proud. I can see how GW can keep a few percentage points in his approval rating with people like her staying in the picture! Seriously, she even gives neocons a bad rap! Wait a sec, what am I saying? You’d think the MN GOP or MN Evangelicals would put a muzzle on her, I hear they’re into that kind of thing.
