While there will be a handful of voters who might get hung up on ethnicity, I like to give the district more credit than that. After all, Jim Ramstad is from ...... North Dakota!

Really, I think there are some voters who won't be able to get past Madia's lack of experience, both as a professional in the community and legislatively. For some, his military service will more than offset the lack of other experience. But for many, it will not.

I do agree w/ AK on the Sarvi point. Sarvi is about as good a candidate as you can put up against Kline. That, combined with the anti-GOP mood, and if there ever was a year this is it.

Well, this 'marriage' looks as contrived as Norm and Laurie's kitchen scene.

But perhaps there will be opportunity to photograph the 4 on stage together sometime this campaign season.

Just have to be in the right place at the right time, and that's not at the Excel in early September.

I like how Mr. Madia's hair appears gray or white in his picture. Make's him look more electable than he really is.

Keep up the good work fellas!

If Sarvi can't beat Kline in 2008, I don't know if anyone will. He's impressive.

Madia might get hammered in pockets of the district because of his ethnicity and because he's single. He's smooth and has a great story to tell, we'll find out how much the district has changed.

El's problem is that it's the only district in the state with large geographic areas that aren't embarrassed by Bachmann. His hope is geography, large turnouts in the North Metro and St. Cloud to counter the hillbillies. He does have 2008 going for him.

Al is the one candidate that could get blasted. I don't think Minnesotans like him or Coleman. Jesse is an opportunist and wins this election if he enters the race. Al could implode before the election and get 35% of the vote without Jesse in the race.

I'm surprised you are that confident in Tinklenberg. I guess the only reason I wasnt that confident was that it's such a conservative district that has shown almost zero progress in shifting blue like half of the district. But, him getting the IP endorsement is a huge plus. If we see a huge kick-up in fundraising for this next quarter, maybe he'll make the DCCC's Red to Blue program. I dont know if Obama will do that well in Wright, Sherburne, Stearns, and Benton county, he should do well in parts of Anoka (more of the suburbarn part) and in Washington county. But he is a soli candidate and Bachmann has not done well this term.....

I think Madia will win. I think it would've been neck and neck in like 2006 but in 2008, Obama is going to win pretty handidly in Minnesota (we are no swing state this election, yet though) and the third district was a very large key to his primary win, being able to attract upper middle class, educated, whites. That is this entire CD pretty much. Obama will win it handidly and carry Madia over to a sure victory. And Paulsen just seems exactly what the Bush administration is about and would be a total rubber stamp for every policy, which will come out in the debates.

I have faith in Franken, but a little bit of doubt. It'll just take some work. I certainly think he will connect a lot better with Minnesotans than Coleman, that accent is just really NYC.

DTM, you should defer to Swissy because he truely speaks for all GOP'ers.

Is there ever not a time when you are thinking about men’s genitalia, Johnson?

That sort of laser wit must make you proud.
