Norm Coleman was on WCCO on Sunday morning with Esme Murphy and he got to discuss his two favorite topics — his sweetheart deal with a very powerful Republican operative to live in his basement and his poorly shot political ad featuring his wife .
Norm was fidgeting like a 3rd grader off their Ritalin .
Why exactly would Norm be nervous about renting a room clearly below market value?
Because the Capitol Briefing suggested that Norm find as good a lawyer as he can afford with his cut rate rental.
Check out the Capitol Briefing from the WaPo and mumbling, squirmy Norm Coleman on WCCO, and be sure to check back with MNPublius as this story continues to grow.

You have to admit he is dancing as fast as he can… and throwing the Republicans under the bus.
I feel much better after that interview, the old opportunist Norm has just stated he could not care less what Republicans here or in Washington want, he’ll vote Norm. He even pointed out that he is going to go even farther afield from Republican core issues in his next term. So thanks to Republicans in Minnesota, even if the better candidate Al Fraken gets defeated, we liberals will have another voice in the Senate.
I wonder why Esmee didn’t ask the Hobo Senator if anyone else lives in the mansion he rents a room in… do you think he has the run of the house for his sometimes $600 rent since no one else lives there?
As mush as I hate Coleman, I thought he did an excellent job of dodging the questions and giving vague enough answers to still be answers. He should have emphasized the point that he’s just like all Minnesotans, struggling to pay rent.
He’s going to destroy Franken, sorry.
Not really related to Norm but I’m sure the MN GOP is crafting a critique of McSame’s tax problems.

They can probably dust off some of the commentary the used against Franken.
Norm has never made a lot of money. His financial disclosure forms show his net worth, for a U.S. Senator, is quite low. Perhaps the lowest in the Senate.
It’s not cheap to live in D.C. and to maintain a lifestyle expected of a U.S. Senator.
I suspect that if someone digs hard enough there will more instances of sweetheart deals. Norm is crafty, I’m sure they’re hidden well. But they are there.
I hear Norm is looking pretty gaunt these days, so either he’s on his ‘don’t draft me’ diet, or he doesn’t have the run of the Condo and stays in his little room without a microwave and eats only granola bars.
I am suprised that Esme even asked the questions. She usually fawn’s all over the Republican candidates.
