Dirty Sexy Money

Boy, Minnesota Republicans are taking money from all sorts of shady characters.  First you have Norm Coleman and the Stevens/VECO stuff (Aaron has been all over that story).  Now, it turns out that Erik Paulsen and Michele Bachmann have taken thousands of dollars in contributions linked to…wait for it…a strip club.

The story starts with Texas Congressman Pete Sessions.  Dump Michele Bachmann has the details:

Pete Sessions (R) from Texas and his leadership PAC, People for Enterprise, Trade, & Economic Growth (PETEPAC) held a little party at a Las Vegas “Club” back in March of this year…

This is how the club’s owner, Ivan Kane, describes his brand of burlesque.

Ivan Kane: The key component would be to have girls who were dancers taking their clothes off, not just girls taking their clothes off.

Classy.

PETEPAC has contributed $5,000 to Erik Paulsen and $2,500 to Michele Bachmann. As DMB points out, the hypocrisy here is rather striking. Minnesota Republicans make a big stink about some jokes Al Franken told and then they go out and actually exploit women to raise money. Way to go guys.

I can’t wait to read Katherine Kersten’s next column revealing her outrage and indignation over Paulson and Bachman’s acceptance of porno money!

But I won’t hold my breath.

Your making bold and reckless assumptions with this post
This is the same brand of trash that is used by the right to distract voters.
C’mon we’re better than that. Stick to posting information that is more meaningful and thoughtful. Leave the trash for Brokorb.

Wasn’t there a bunch of republican money donated by a hotel chain… with Romney connections that made huge profits from porn movies piped into every hotel room? I wonder if any of that porn movie money ended up in Michelle Bachman’s pocketbook? I’ll have to research the story as it has been a while since the Mormon Presidential candidate hit the news.

Yes 63 much like the McCain Paris Hilton/Brittny Spears ad we should just take the slurs and slams… don’t want to fight back because it might interfere with losing another election to scum and our delicate sensabilities.

So Erik Paulsen is seeking out the support of Sessions and taking money from strip club parties. I don’t think Jim Ramstad ever did anything so seedy as that, and Paulsen claims to be a “Ramstad Moderate”.

There is nothing moderate about parties in strip clubs in Las Vegas. Those aren’t my values.

Erik Paulsen is obviously out of touch with Minnesota Values and Minnesota Families.

Wonder how he explains this to his 4 daughters?

And Michelle “I am running because God told me to run” Bachman….WWJD Michelle?

The “dump michele bachmann” site says it best:

“I guess I had never realized that family values meant strippers and horny goat weed.”

All that hard work putting together a post and I don’t even get a link out of it? Oh, the bitterness… http://liberalinthelandofconservative.blogspot.com

A comment by Ivan Kane “This kind of striptease is very empowering to women,”

I wnoder if Erik Paulsen’s New Campaign Slogan is going to read:

THIS KIND OF STRIP TEASE MONEY IS VERY EMPOWERING TO MY CAMPAIGN

I must be slow, but are you sure the Bachmann (who I don’t like) and Paulsen (who I do like) were aware of the source of all of the dollars into the PAC? Seems like a pretty high bar. So should all candidates do research on anyone who gives them $500 to know the exact source of all of their income?

    YES.

OR THE REPUBLICANS HAVE TO BACK OFF OF AL FRANKEN. CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. AND WHEN MONEY COMES DIRECTLY FROM A STRIP CLUB OWNER IN VEGAS, IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THEY DID NOT KNOW WHERE THAT MONEY CAME FROM.

AND THIS HAS BEEN NATIONAL NEWS AFFECTING A LOT OF CANDIDATES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. I WOULD THINK ANY CANDIDATE WHO TOOK MONEY FROM SESSIONS AND HIS PETEPAC WOULD HAVE LOOKED INTO IT. THAT IS WHAT CAMPAIGN MANAGERS ARE FOR.

sorry for the caps — I just looked up and realized they were there.
