That Capitol Hill basement apartment is next door to Norm Coleman’s. And, Norm Coleman’s comments about how he’s paying a fair rate for his ‘cramped’ (which, by the way, can anyone say they’ve seen the rooms — you know, before you go on parroting the Coleman campaign line Tom Hauser ) apartment doesn’t stand up to the smell test.

While the size of what I’m suuuuuuuuuuure are spacious studio apartments aren’t given I’m curious how Norm Coleman can argue that he’s recieving a fair shake (unlike the thousands of Minnesotans struggling with their mortgages) when he’s paying so much less than any other representative from Minnesota.

The point of the story?
Norm Coleman is the among the most resourceful of our Mn contingent in DC. It would be refreshing to see more of our lawmakers focusing on how to control costs rather than simply how to grow revenue. That is exactly what Norm is doing in his personal budget.
Wowzer, this scandal is really catching fire!
And why wouldn’t it, it’s got everything; cramped English basements, airy studio apartments, rent due, furnature…yup, pretty much everything a news hungry public wants.
Why, we’re reworking our schedules so that someone is always on hand to report up to the minute releases of new facts, we’re making popcorn, taking bets, we’re ….zzzzzzzzzz.
Renting an apartment from a lobbyist for half the going rent could be looked at as “controlling costs,” or it could be looked at as “accepting a gift from a lobbyist.” Your call.
I would be more convinced that this was not a gift if the landlord had been a little more scrupuilous about collecting rent.

Nobody is interested in the scandals or troubling stories about those politicians who agree with us 100%, like Norm Coleman.
Moonbats like AL Franken who are 100% wrong on every issue are different, their troubling stories raise eyebrows.
