Marc Ambinder says McCain’s team is formally vetting 8-10 candidates, including Gov. Pawlenty and Mitt Romney. If Pawlenty’s statement to the local press is to believed, this process is fairly recent. Polinaut reported on June 20th that Pawlenty said, “Nobody has asked me for any information or to submit any information and I haven’t talked to Senator McCain about it nor anyone in his campaign about it.”
Pawlenty’s next press availability will be interesting.
