Fresh off of his race being upgraded by CQ politics (which we were remiss in not mentioning), the Second District Independence Party announced their endorsement of Steve Sarvi.
From the release:
“As I have gotten to know the members of the Independence Party, it has become clear to me that if anyone wants a change in course, it’s them,” said Steve Sarvi. “They want real fiscal responsibility – not politicians who run up our deficits and spend endlessly in Iraq while talking about fiscal responsibility. They want government that represents everyone – not just members of one party or donors with powerful corporate interests. They represent one special interest: making sure we leave a better world for our children and grandchildren. That’s what I want, and it’s what my supporters want. I’m proud to have this endorsement, and I look forward to having the Independence Party as an integral part of our team working for victory.”
Steve Sarvi is probably my favorite candidate in the state of Minnesota right now, and the closing of this race is due to people like you, who donated to Steve a few weeks ago. Sarvi obviously is picking up momentum but that can’t go on forever — you need to help Steve, give him some dough here, or sign up to volunteer for him here.

Stick to the Madia/Paulsen race. It is the only competitive one in the state. The other 7 congressional races are decided.
Don’t burn your credibility saying otherwise.

Dear Dumb — Thanks for commenting — and more dumb predictions, or dumb commandments you want to share with us? Sean
I’m going on record as saying that we are going to sweep. Kline? GONE! Bachmann? GONE! Paulsen? GONE! (or never there) Coleman? GONE!
There you have it.
Steve Sarvi is an exceptional candidate and one of the best running in the state of Minnesota. His practical experience of holding taxes down while city manager, working with both sides in Kosovo to hold elections and establish a workable city government where he was based in Kosovo, and his work in Iraq building schools and goodwill while in Iraq are examples of the talents he has in working with both sides of an issue in national and international settings. He has been unfailing in his support of our troops and veterans, unlike his opponent, and is the type of representative we so desperately need in congress.
Even though I do not live in his district, I have sent monetary support and encourage those I know in his district to take a serious look at this amazing candidate. He deserves all the help we can give [both money and volunteering] to encourage this caliber of candidate that so positively reflects the sort of country the U.S. used to be and can be again.
STEVE SARVI IS BY FAR THE BEST CANDIDATE IN THE SECOND DISTRICT!
Here is how I’m handicapping:
1 - Walz over Davis by alot
2 - Kline over Sarvi by a sliver
3 - Paulsen over Madia by a sliver
4 - McCollum by a ton
5 - Ellison by a ton
6 - Tinklenburg over Bachmann by more than people think
7 - Oberstar by a ton
8 - Peterson by alot
Scale:
A ton
Alot
More than people think
a sliver
I think that with the IP endorsement of Tinklenberg and Sarvi, we’re looking at a swept ballot. (El, Sarvi, and Franken by a close-ish margin.)
The IP is great to recognize the opportunity to help win a race and install Progressive candidates in office where repressive incumbents are only representing that sliver of the population that shares their narrow ideologies.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE! We shall overcome greed and corruption.
P.S. to Dantheman: Oberstar represents Dist 8 and Peterson Dist 7.
People will soon understand that John Kline is one of the most extreme right wingers in the Congress representing a fairly moderate district. His recent election year disproval of earmarks is nothing more than an election year gimmick. This comes from a guy who voted for the Alaskan “bridge to nowhere” and billions and billions of dollars of other earmarks before is was expedient to be against them.
John Kline doesn’t even hold public meetings. He hides behind fraudulent “tele town hall meetings” in which questioners are screened and he is lobbed softballs.
Sargeant Sarvi will be by FAR a better representative for the citizens of the district. Hell, he will BE a representative as Kline could care less what you or I think.
In practical terms, what does this add to the second or sixth races? Does the IP pledge monetary support, infrastructure, doers it boast of a big donor list, or voter file? Other than a one time hit in the news, how much does the IP really matter?
Not a hit at the IP, just wondering what their support is like in the Second and Sixth. And real support, not just the one off votes for Ventura.
Some of the residents in the 2nd and 6th Congressional Districts I have met this year are dissatisfied with their US Reps. in that they are AWOL as far as talking face to face with them on the issues, leet alone being visible and accessible to them.
Instead, they are sent Color Glossy mailers by Kline and Bachmann saying how great they are and how hard they are “working for them in Congress”, bothering them constantly with robo-calls for their Tele-Town Hall meetings, as well as supposedly listing their Congressional Office Hours. Only to be told that their Reps are far too busy to address their concerns or they have no comment on their votes concerning the issues at hand.
Steve Sarvi pledges not to be that kind of Representative. One to be as much visible and accessible to the constituency of the 2nd District, addressing the issues that concern them, working with them face to face, as well as accountable for the votes he will cast.
Minnesota will be as BLUE as it ever has been come November. Go SArvi, MADIA, and TINK!!!
