Wow.
Jesse owned me. I’ll give him credit for that at least.
Good news.
Ha-Ha!!
the people really getting played are DFL franken supporters. he was supposedly losing to ventura in a KSTP poll? seriously, we have few hours to figure out a viable candidate to take coleman out. anyone down for kidnapping walz tonight and bringing him to the secretary of states office tomorrow?
I kinda thought Jesse was pretty good on Larry King!
He got a lot said that needed saying - and he doesn’t seem to be any fan of Normy, by any stretch!!!
“Senator Ventura” was probably beyond his capacity to handle with decorum - and 6 years cuts into a lot of surfing in Mexico.
What I wonder about - he claimed that he was in a 50% tax bracket. Didn’t know that category still existed, but of course, as a Libertarian,
he doesn’t want to pay for anything even if he IS socially liberal as he claims.
The idea that Al is about even with Normy,
to me says that its time to show some bite after the BS lying ads the right wingers have put out.
Jesse was the only thing standing in the way of 6 more years of Norm Coleman.
Wow, I thought he was all in. This is the best news Franken has heard since things went south last spring. He needs to loosen-up now that Jesse is out and it’s too late for another DFLer to knock him off.
He is probably adding up federal and state rates - plus all property taxes etc. Also, if he’s sometimes paying taxes in other states that might increase his tax liability.
He might also be referring to his marginal tax rate. I believe 33 is the highest federal rate and 8 is the highest Minnesota rate - that adds up to 41% for federal and state income taxes alone. This doesn’t include payroll and medicare (15% up to 90K I believe). It also doesn’t include property taxes or local taxes. If he made money in New York City, he will have to pay city and state taxes I believe.
I seriously doubt that Ventura did that much math.
It’s easy to say Ventura played the media, and maybe he did. But when a former governor talks openly about running for higher office, you gotta cover it - no matter who he is.
i was hoping he would run. It would have been the most hilarious senate race in memory..
Fully half of those on the Ventura Prediction Thread were sure that he’d run. Where are you all today? Crickets….I guess you’re not as smart as you all think you are.
