I'm all for stupid rumors. Stories of folks like Dodd, Biden, Kerry, Kaine, Bayh, Gephardt, and Clinton only make the eventual nominee look better by comparison.

No Kerry. No Clinton. No Dodd. No Biden. No Bayh. No Kaine.

Yes: Feingold, Clark, Clarke, Richardson.

Of course, it's Obama's to pick.

I think Richardson's zipper problem is like Norm Coleman's - no names, no pictures, but lots of rumors. Whether that is enough to scare off Obama, I don't know. He did get caught lying about his baseball career (he claimed he was drafted), but that really isn't a big deal.

Richardson or Clark, IMO.

Richardson's alleged problem has not been more accurately described than a 'zipper problem' What a crock. Of course, if there is any truth to it, Obama should stay FAR away.

I think Richardson is the most qualified of the entire democratic slate this season.

I also like Richard Clarke, though I'm sure he wasn't vetted.

Anybody but Clinton, Kerry, Biden, And Bay. Kthxbai.

The reality is that Wes Clark isn't on the list because Obama couldn't wait two seconds before throwing him under the bus after his McCain comments - even though most agreed with his opinion. It takes someone like Wes Clark to credibly make those comments. Wes is a 4 star general, 34 year veteran of the US Army, critically wounded in Vietnam, first in his class at West Point, master's in economics and far from a Washington insider, contrary to your personal opinion, Sean. Clark is a private businessman in Little Rock, Arkansas. Also, contrary to your opinion, he is very effective as a campaigner and is one of the most requested speakers by Dem candidates everywhere - as well as campaigns in Minnesota. You make these off the cuff comments like these are your personal experiences. Did you attend his last event in Minnesota just before the 04 election day? You know, the one that overflowed the large hall in Mondale School of Law at the UofM and had overflow in two additional rooms with tv's hooked up to watch? Did you count how many standing O's and how much applause he generated when speaking about Iraq, Afghanistan and the Bush Admin? Are you aware of his long involvement with IAVA and VoteVets.org? He is very well respected by many Dems. How many years have your known him? I've known him for five and can say....you're very wrong.

General Clark is plenty qualified, and he brings a lot to the table most others don't - long-term personal contacts with foreign governments for one, and instant credibility with miliary matters for two.

Plus, General Clark would energize progressive veterans in a way no one else can.

Although, this is rather a moot discussion....

General Clark isn't on the list because he's not a particularly effective campaigner, he isn't as qualified as many others on the list, he is one of the most self-aggrandizing guys in Washington etc.

Joe Biden's biggest fault is that he can talk too much, but there are few Democrats and just as few Republicans who can hold their own discussing foreign policy with Joe Biden.
