Good job, I live in Kline's district. I used to get literature about his town hall meetings days after the event occurred. I also have had lit telling me about the Minnesota River Wildlife Refuge, gee duh, thanks Congressman, seeing has how I drive past it everyday when I go to work. The best was his health care report, a flyer talking about medicare, great I am 51 and self insured at the tune of close to $3,000 a quarter for a family of four. I got some time till I am eligible for medicare. I got that mailer and inspired me to drop off a check to Steve' s headquarters.

Bachman and Kline are not statewide candidates. Just saying. ;)

They should have gone though. Pretty lame that they didn't.

"Run and Hide" is the apparent campaign strategy for Republicans running for Congress in Minnesota this year. Incumbents anyway. Bachmann and Kline were no-shows for Farmfest this year. Having "another commitment" when this event is scheduled far in advance could certainly say something about their commitment to farm families and agriculture. Maybe it's a condition of the big business contributors to their campaigns.
From AP:

"FarmFest draws thousands of farmers and rural residents from around the region, and has become an expected stop for statewide political candidates every two years."

Good story that would be more persuasive if Sarvi was holding more public forums. Other than parades, door knocking, and a few house parties each month his calandar shows almost no events. I went back to April to find an appearance at a public library. If there were more opportunities to meet and hear him speak on the issues I'd probably make a small contribution and maybe volunteer. I don't know anything about running a campaign but it seems getting out more would help with fundraising.

Ya know, Mike Osskopp makes a LOT of dough, for tossin' racial slurs outside of a VFW, and tellin' whoppers inside a VFW.

Here's a link, to how much dough Osskopp takes home:

http://www.legistorm.com/person/Osskopp_Mike/14386.html

Oh, and Dianna Bratlie? She's in that youtube video I linked to, way at the end - she's tryin' to get in the way of the citizen/journalist filming Osskopp.

Here's that link, again:

Kline apparently doesn't have to appear at Farmfest either, since 'He has a record,' I guess all we need to know is that he did vote for the Farm bill this year. Guess he's too busy stomping his feet in DC and demanding that Speaker Pelosi call Congress back to vote on energy issues to attend an event with Minnesota farm families.

This afternoon (5 August 2008) is the day the Congressional candidates are scheduled to appear at Farmfest in southwestern Minnesota.

schedule from: http://www.farmshows.com/ffst/events_forums.po

1:30 PM	"Congressional Candidate's Forum on Agricultural and Rural Issues"

Candidates
* Congressman Collin Peterson (D), (Seventh)
* Glen Menze (R), (Seventh)
* Congressman Tim Walz (D), (First)
* Brian Davis (R), (First)
* Dick Day (R), (First)
* Elwyn Tinklenberg (D), (Sixth)
* Steve Sarvi (D), (Second)

Ag Leader Panel :

* Lynn Ketelsen, Linder Farm Network, Moderator
* Kevin Paap, President, MN Farm Bureau
* Doug Peterson, President, MN Farmer's Union
* Kristin Weeks Duncanson, Vice President, MN Agri-Growth Council
* Roger Moore, President, MN Corn Grower's Assn.
* Lance Peterson, Past-President, MN Soybean Grower's Assn.

Oooh... dumb scores a direct hit! "John Kline may be running an unethical campaign, but Mike McIntee isn't tan." Can't argue with that.

This video is really timely; both Bachmann and Kline have "truth problems." We've been talking about how Bachmann lied about oil prices; apparently Kline has the same strategy. This is Republican Campaigns 101: Lie about what the other side did, and whenever possible, accuse them of doing the exact same thing you just did.

No wonder we kicked these jokers out of Congress.

Wow "dumb". What an amazing rebuttal to the report showing the blatant hypocrisy of someone who works for Kline, and his uncanny skill of hiding from his constituents.
