Take A Second To Consider

It looks like this week will be dominated by the collapse of another giant investment firm (another victim of the credit crisis) and the very expensive rebuilding of Texas (and the return of $4 a gallon gas) and as this news percolates I’d like to remind you of a few things.

First, remember John McCain said: “The issue of economics is something that I’ve really never understood as well as I should.”  It would only make sense that McCain would try to reinforce this weakness — you know, being as he’s running for the biggest, most stressful, most important job in the world.

Then remember that he picked a wholly unqualified Governor of a state whose biggest economic concern was “how much money can we give to every man woman and child in the state” to be his Vice Presidential pick.  He didn’t pick Olympia Snowe who could bring some economic know how to the ticket.  He didn’t pick Carly Fiorina or Liddy Dole, or Meg Whitman.  He picked someone who in no way what so ever can make him a better leader, he picked someone who can’t help him govern our country better.

So, aside from the fact that John McCain has said that he doesn’t understand economics, aside from the fact that in his first exercise of Presidential judgement John McCain picked probably the most unqualified person to occupy a federal ticket in the modern era, I’d also like you to remember: John McCain can’t provide a single way that his economic policy will be any different from the policies of the last eight years — the policies that got us here in the first place.

Just consider that… for me.
