He wasn’t talking about the 12 Democrats, he was talking about the coward Republicans! And all Republicans are cowards at this point. I would say voting for McCain Palin would be an enormous act of cowardice. Like chickenhawk Bush Cheney avoiding Vietnam enormous. So what’s to argue? Your sidepoint which has nothing to do with this discussion?, though it was a typical GOP subject change tactic. Maybe there is a post at MDE where we can take up your argument? This ain’t the one. Frank nailed what? He was one of the lead negotiators on the bill and 12 of his own Democrat committee members voted against the bill that he helped craft. I’d like to see you argue those facts.

The facts are that this was a Bush Proposal, whom - in case you’ve forgotten - is a GOPer. And the Democrats looked at the problem, knowing that Bush has, shall we say, a wee bit of a credibility problem.

But they looked anyway, and a majority of ‘em decided to vote with the President anyway, even knowing how toxic Boy Blunder is.

On the other hand, Boehner and Blunt seized on this opportunity to put some distance between their vulnerable GOPers and Boy Blunder, because they know how toxic Boy Blunder is.

There was a whole bunch of politics being played with this, on BOTH sides of the aisle.

And Barney Frank was correct; any wuss that changed a vote because Pelosi mouthed off was a wuss that put their own fragile ego over their conscience.
