Talking about CD3 ads, I guess the campaign tailspin going on in Eden Prairie right now involves Team Paulsen using footage illegally:
In his most recent television campaign ad Paulsen uses footage of his opponent Ashwin Madia from a TPT show Almanac that aired earlier this month. This ad has appeared on local television outlets, Rep. Paulsen’s website and is posted on YouTube, TPT reports.
From a TPT press release (emphasis mine):
In previous campaigns, we have requested that candidates - Democrats, Independents and Republicans - cease use of similar material, and all have complied…Twin Cities Public Television has sent two formal requests to the Paulsen campaign to remove all TPT footage from their ad; as of today, that request has not been honored.We are therefore issuing this statement, taking appropriate legal action…
Way to go, Team Paulsen.
Just an observation ….
Funny how when there is an issue with a DCCC ad, Madia is the innocent golden boy and the DCCC is this big evil organization who the poor guy just has no control over.
But when there is an issue with an RNCC ad, it is all from “Team Paulsen” and Erik is firmly behind it all.
Actually, it was the Paulsen campaign that used the TPT footage, not an RNCC ad.

This question is only relevant because Democrats are quick to distance Madia from the DCCC anti-Paulsen ad that scored an ‘F’ for truthfulness.
DtM - your commentary leads reasonable people to reasonably conclude you have no probelmo with Erik Paulsen’s campaign ripping TPT copywrited footage for campaign purposes.
I’m not surprised you condone that.
I wasn’t aware of Erik Paulsen’s campaign doing that.

OK, now that you have - how do you feel about Paulsen ripping TPT copywrited material for his political commercials, and ignoring TPT’s demand that he cease and desist?

And I don’t understand why TPT had to send the second request, and then follow up with a media advisory - alerting the media of Paulsen’s illegal activity and requesting TV stations refuse to air the ad that violated copywrite status.
Although I don’t understand that, my guess is it’s because the little weasel figures if he cheats and wins, he can always apologize later - and if he loses, who cares?
But that guess is only because I’ve been following his career since 1994….
Paulsen is trying to cheat his way to election! He sets a very poor standard of decency for his four daughters…not the type of fair minded, moderate representation we need in Washington. Ashwin Madia would never condone the type of deception being spewed forth from Paulsen and his local allies, not to mention the RNC’s Racist ad! Paulsen’s latest door hangar’s are filled with lies about Madia…more of the same from Erik…disgusting!
