Very touching. Both Al and Franni are a class act.
Frannie is a total class act, as is their entire family.
All strength and power to Franni.
That is “soooo fucking shameless.”
Franni says Al stands up for people, how is joking about rape and pornography standing up for people? Franni should be ashamed to be married to that jackass.
gopgal,
You are nothing but a talking point repeating troll.
That comment proved it.
Desparate, shameless, and frothing at the mouth, your comment is a disgusting display of a representative Minnesota Republican blogger.
Coleman is the party that votes against equal pay for women, making their lives worse, and life worse for their children.
Franken makes stupid and offensive jokes years ago that he apologizes for, but would vote for equal pay for women.
You decide who is really for women.
Franken has been loyal to his wife for 30 years, but wrote a stupid story about porn.
Coleman doesn’t even live with his wife most of the time.
You decide who really has a stronger family and famiy values.
In gopgal’s world,as long as you claim the cross, you can screw hookers, have sex in bathrooms, proposition house pages, and all other sorts of mischief, vote against health care for kids, etc. but if you are REpublican then you are automatically family values.
GOPGAL, Tell Franni she is shameless for sticking by the man for 30 years who stuck by her for 30 years.
Thanks so much, Alec
Touching video. Proves to me that Al Franken is one heck of a writer, whether it be SNL (my favorite show) or alchohol dependency videos.
As a Senator? Still not convinced.
Can someone get me a handkerchief before I short out my computer from all my tears? Can’t we all just get along and forget about Al’s tax cheating and stiffing his employees workman’s comp? He really is a wonderful man. Minnesotans should be proud.
Can you tell that Republicans got nothing?
They have a government paycheck grabbing hack with a skirt-chasing reputation who is bought and paid for by lobbyists. Cheaply for furniture and rent. They got Norm Coleman who never made a payroll in his life. They got Norm Coleman who has NEVER worked for anybody but the Government up against a self made millionaire Minnesotan with a heart and a brain. Al Franken lived through the excess of the entertainment industry and stayed loyal to his wife for 30 years. It is pretty obvious who has the values and work ethic Minnesotans want in a Senator… our next Senator… Al Franken.
Drill gopgal drill.
The GOPers got Norm Coleman. Deep down in their hearts, they KNOW he is just a RINO. If - God forbid - Bushy McSame were to actually win, but the Senate races went Democratic in a big way and we ended up with 59 seats, and Reid offered Norm a committee to switch, do they really believe ol’ Smokescreen would be a “man of principle and conviction” and stick with the GOP?
The reality is the base doesn’t trust Coleman, and everyone else recognizes The Weasel for what he is.
I heard Coleman wrote a song on a mouth harp to get him over his marijuana addiction.
Ah DtM
That was unscripted, 100% Frannie Franken goodness. Piddle up a rope.
“I heard Coleman wrote a song on a mouth harp to get him over his marijuana addiction.” -Lojasmo
HA! haha! That will be my gchat status, verbatim, for at least 3 days.
What a great ad.
Franni is a class act. I am fortunate to have befriended her. She always hasa hug for me when we see one another at functions. She has one of the hats I made for a fundraiser last summer that she won the bid on wears it on the campaign trail.
Franni speaks from the heart about Al and what the campaign stands for. I have had the bpelasure to meet Thomasin. She is smart, articulate, and grateful for her parents.
I also have a special gift Franni gave me that I cherish. It’s nothing big or momentous, but it has meaning for me.
Leaving aside the politics of the matter (yes, it is possible), I admire her courage as a human being to speak in public about this part of her life. It isn’t easy to do.
My point about Al Franken being a good writer didn’t mean that he scripted this ad for his wife. It is that she makes the point that he wrote movies to help with chemical addiction. That is great.
That means Al Franken is a gifted writer and can write movies or TV shows that move people. I love SNL, for example, and much of what I love was probably created in Al Franken’s mind.
I vote for Al Franken to be a movie and TV writer. That is what he was put on this earth to do. Not to attempt to be my US Senator.
nice to have honest people especially running for office!
Al Franken will be many times over the Senator we have now in Norm.
Six years ago, I heard Norm Coleman say at the very debate at the same site that “when elected Senator, I will get the job done.” The late Paul Wellstone had won that debate. This evening, Coleman repeated the lines “talk and action”.
This evening, Norm was on the defensive the whole time. Al Franken showed that he has the seriousness to put “talk and action” into play, as well as getting the job done for Minnesotans and not Special Interests.
