Until now the single most touching ad I’ve seen this cycle was Franni’s ad. It’s just a beautiful, moving ad that reminds all of us that there is little more we can hope for in our elected officials other than a little understanding and consideration of the human condition.
And then I saw this. It doesn’t need much discussion — it’s just amazing.

i’m a democrat. i hope the dems win big to control the senate.
but this is just ridiculous. it is exploiting that dude.
i thought this was an snl spoof, but this is for real.
c’mon, way across the line……
…and how is he able to make the computer talk without moving his hands,
does the computer voice read his mind…c’mon.
there are way too many things wrong with this ad.
I rather see the negative crap by the 527’s and DSCC, than this.
….i’m going to throw up now…
If this doesn’t make Todd cry, nothing will. Thanks for sharing this. Who is Udall and from where does he come?
Dina -
Ever heard of Dr. Stephen hawking?
He probably uses eye movements to spell out the words. There are systems that track where you are looking, so you look at a letter or word on a pad in front of you and then it speaks that word. He may have had to spend an hour or two doing this and having it “recorded” to be read as continuous text later.
And to assume that this is exploitation is to assume that just because this young man is disabled he is not capable of of speaking for himself and advocating for his chosen candidate. And that is offensive. Disabled does not equal stupid.
Two “Wows”. One for the ad, and one for Dina’s response.
This ad put the real face about the War in Iraq. Traumatic Brain Injuries are the #1 injury of our troops are up against. Powerful and humbling indeed.
All the moe reason to end this insane venture of Bush’s.
Copy and paste what SeanH said. Great ad, terrible response from Dina.
