KSTP Gives Erik Paulsen a “D” on Honesty

MNpublius exposed the dishonesty of Paulsen’s latest ad before, but KSTP takes it even further:

Erik Paulsen Ad: “Disturbing,” October 18, 2008
SD 42/43 Meeting, November 28, 2007
Brooklyn Park Candidate Forum, January 12, 2008

It’s a pretty rough situation when KSTP destroys an ad from a right-wing candidate. With Madia taking the high road, I’m not sure how Paulsen’s campaign can go up from here.

  • Surprise, surprise.
Big distortions by Paulsen, who would have thought?…

Paulsen is one horrifically boring guy for an ideologue & Bush supporter.

I saw him with his little fake
“pull out documentation from his coat packet - that we never SEE” trick.

A pathetic use of innuendo, etc - on the same show he was whining about NEGATIVE ads?????
And then Paulsen tries to scam us?

  • Clarification: the above show was “Almanac.”

  • Madia taking the high road? Madia received an ‘F’ from the same KSTP for his ads against Paulsen.

  • Apparently, you have difficulty paying attention, DtM - it was the DCCC ads that got an “F” - “It’s false to imply we were talking about that ad being a Madia Campaign ad.”

Of course, it’s also possible you’re deliberately distorting what the KSTP Truth Test says.

Either/or, you’re being your usual self, DtM - which is why reasonable people no longer trust GOPers to tell the truth.

  • I supposed the Hubbards will take Tom Hauser’s key to the secret GOP club away for his insolence.

  • I give Hauser credit for doing the job on Paulsen’s latest ad, although he could have also done the same thing on the liar, liar ad. Do you think we’ll hear anything from Ramstad about the scurrilous attack ads from his mentee, Erik, against Aswhin Madia. And DTM, what are you thinking, posting such b.s. that Madia got an F from KSTP….you have zero credibility unless you retract your comment and admit that you mispoke….we can forgive you, after all, we have all said things at times we later regretted. Last debate tonight…it’ll be interesting to see what type of attack Paulsen takes….as for Ash, he’ll stay with the high road…it’s the only one he knows!

  • DantheMan - at least one lying comment on every thread.

  • You are right, I am wrong. I stand corrected.

It was Team Madia that scored the F, not Madia specifically. The DCCC sponsored the ad.

And before you claim I’m trying to insert “Team” where it shouldn’t be, look at the posts on this blog regarding “Team Coleman” and “Team Paulsen”. They all make direct connections that the ads from the RCCC or RSCC reflect on the candidate. In fact, this blog goes so far as to claim that Norm Coleman is coordinating directly with the DSCC on negative campaigning.

So what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. “Team Madia” scored the F.

    My apologies.

  • DTM…I don’t use the term “Team Paulsen”….keep the comments about Coleman on a Coleman post…as for Madia vs. Paulsen…it’s not even close…Paulsen get’s a D and Madia hasn’t had a specific Truth Test about his one rebuttal ad to misrepresentations in a Paulsen ad….like I said…Madia takes the high road, as usual.

  • Paulsen, to his discredit, closes the debate tonight with another taxes lie statement about Madia. Even if Madia had been last, he would have taken the high road and talked about the changes our country needs to make, but it would have been refreshing to hear Paulsen actually tell us some specific policy ideas he has….None were forthcoming. Paulsen and the RNC continue to hemorage money into false, attacking ads against Madia that have already been “truth tested” to a D grade (at least Paulsen’s own ad was)…fortunately for us, we only have to hear this b.s. for 12 more days, and then Paulsen can fade into the sunset as nothing more than a bad memory.
