Madia Also Has Momentum

El Tinklenberg isn’t the only congressional candidate with momentum as Election Day approached.  Ashwin Madia was endorsed by ECM today

It was apparent from those interviews that all three seem to want to continue the Frenzel-Ramstad mold, but in our view Madia, a former Republican, offers the best hope that this tradition of moderation and bipartisanship will continue.

The candidates, no matter their party, believe that change is needed in Congress, but Madia attacks the issues head-on and is very specific in what those changes should be, notably with his prescription for balancing the federal budget and paring down the country’s debt, which is his top priority.

Indeed, Madia talks like a deficit hawk and says he is willing to work with both sides, including conservative bluedog Democrats and moderate Republicans, to achieve a balance budget.

On top of that, the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza calls Madia a “slight favorite” to win in 12 days:

Democrat Ashwin Madia appears to have edged ahead of state Sen. Erik Paulsen (R) in this race in the suburbs of the Twin Cities. In a neutral year, Paulsen would likely win. But Madia’s grassroots campaign, his service in Iraq and the strong year shaping up for Democrats in the state make him a slight favorite.

But let’s not get cocky. As Matt reported yesterday, Republicans are spending $1 million in a last minute attempt to defeat Ash. Don’t let this seat slip out of our fingers. Donate today.

I’ll be pretty surprised if Madia doesn’t win. The entire tide of events is breaking his way.

Yes Madia is a sure win, it is time to move resources to Sarvi. We need to be smart about this.

    DTM and DFL Fan-

You are both talking nonsense, but you already know that. This race is too close to call. DFL Supporters - Donate as much as you can and volunteer if you can - for Ashwin Madia and for Steve Sarvi, too.

If Madia and Franken lose, hopefully we’ll see the end to the antiquated party endorsing process.

Still on the Bonoff thing, eh….ACO? Time to recognize it wouldn’t even be close if it were Bonoff. Paulsen would be so far ahead it wouldn’t be funny. Madia is running an excellent campaign and will continue to work hard to win this.

You my friend are the one still hung up on Bonoff. By the way, the generic dem, according to RCP, is a +8.7 on a repub. If Madia’s campaign was so excellent, why is this race even close and why has it fallen from a top 1o take over to #29?

Because Paulsen and the RNCC have dumped tons of money into slime ads in the district and because that RCP average isn’t in the 3rd which has a +1 R rating. Madia is doing wonderfully.

Momentum is nice, but it’ll be Nov. 5 before I relax…Madia will continue to talk about the issues and Paulsen will continue slinging mud along with the RNC…we shall see which is more effective. As for me, if Paulsen’s slime campaign of no positions and hiding from the voters actually works…I think I’ll puke! We must work harder, knock on more doors, make more calls until Ash is elected!

I have been reading that the money that was redirected from Paulsen to Bachmann
has been re-tasked back to Paulsen after Bachmann made a fool of herself once again.

Time to donate to Madia, I think!
Getting that message out there is important.

The slimy tricks they’ve been trying to pull on Madia need to be known.
Its not very Minnesotan to be as dirty as they’ve been.

    Paulsen has nothing for issues.
