Not Content With Destroying the Timberwolves, McHale Seeks to Destroy the Country

Timberwolves VP Kevin McHale made a cameo appearance at the McCain rally in Lakeville today.  Apparently the same judgment that led the Timberwolves to a 22-60 record last year has led McHale to support McCain.  But McCain may have made a serious tactical error today, afterall, McHale’s approval rating among Minnesota sports fans is probably a hair lower than George Bush’s.  I suppose McCain, who has demonstrated a penchant for erratic leadership over the last few weeks, could not resist pointing to someone who shares his leadership philosophy.

Good god, I hate Kevin McHale.

I thought he used to be a Democratic during his playing career. I guess when he was doing good things on the court he was doing good things in politics and when he was working hard destroying a sports team he had to try that out in politics as well.

    Sigh.

I hate our sports teams management. They manage to screw everything up.

This ought to be great for filling the bleachers this year. For those of us that don’t want to patronize ‘Republican’ businesses that give a share of their profits to ‘public servants’ like McCain, I’m wondering if they will change to Red Uniforms this year.

McCain is probably doing well with the North Oaks crowd. Unfortunately for McCain, North Oaks is tiny.

Let’s not forget that Wolves owner Glenn Taylor is a big supporter of Repub causes. My guess (and it is purely that) is that McHale got Taylor’s approval to make that appearance. Remember also that Mike Tice gave GW a Vikes jersey in 2004, and some season ticket holders were none too pleased. So my question is this: will McHale’s endorsement really get any more Minnesota votes, or even those on the Range? Personally, I doubt it.
