Still in Hiding, Paulsen Accepts Help from Embattled Republican Leader
Boehner raises money for Paulsen, Bachmann and Kline behind closed doors
St. Paul (October 14, 2008) — This evening, Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner is expected to appear at a fundraising event in downtown Minneapolis. Appearing with the embattled Republican leader will be Republican Third District Candidate Erik Paulsen and Republican Representatives Michele Bachmann and John Kline.
Minnesota DFL Associate Communications Director Eric Fought released this statement:
“Erik Paulsen has spent the past 14 years as a professional partisan politician, advancing the most radical tenets of his party’s platform and leading the charge in the Minnesota House.
“True to form, Paulsen and fellow Republicans will gladly accept help tonight from one of the most ardent champions of the failed policies of the Bush administration. And in the spirit of Paulsen’s stealth campaign for Congress, which he conducted by hiding from the public and press, Paulsen will accept Boehner’s help behind closed doors, away from public and media scrutiny.
“Erik Paulsen would have Minnesotans forget his long career of far right-wing Republican partisanship — which is why he’s refusing to meet with anyone except other partisan Republicans in private. It’s past time for Erik Paulsen — not to mention Michele Bachmann and John Kline — to level with the people of Minnesota how their ideas for the next two years are any different than the past eight.”
Anyone in the mood for a $1,000 steak dinner with Republicans not being public about how they’re Republicans tonight?

In the meantime, they are sending inflammatory accusations out to women in the household,
attacking Madia. Do they think women aren’t capable of understanding they are getting conned by Paulsen’s campaign?

Not true Aaron. I went to the Paulsen event tonight. What you, and Mockingbird allege, is not true, plain and simple.
Gee, a private fundraiser…did they let Erik talk, or did he bring his “talking heads” with him? Maybe they’ll give him a few bucks for some more negative ads…I kind of felt sorry for him about having the RNC pull their funding for any ads for him until maybe the last week (probably so they can spew some more lies about Madia hoping there’s no time to rebut them) until I read the reports of just how much he has spent on local TV… $600,000 more than Madia has spent, and he’s actually had ONE whole positive ad…something about peeing in an outhouse. Why would Paulsen do anything other than hide out with his Rupublican cronies, while Ashwin Madia is meeting with more voters of the 3rd to talk about real solutions to the problems we all face.
Funny, secret fundraising. Is this group another one of those special interst groups that he will have to dance for if elected?
Man, people. Start thinking about the future. All that special interest money isn’t going to help you. It is just giving a career politician a job. Would you look at David Dillon and see that he is the only person in this race that is not taking special interest money so when elected he will not have to kowtow to them? Remember it was special interest groups that got this country into the problems we are having now. Doesn’t matter if Democ(rat) or Republi(con). They were held to special interest group because of their “donations”
