Today, the Star Tribune is sure sticking to their
“non-partisanship” word by — I’m not making this up —
comparing Jeff Larson to Superman. It is an unbelievable puff piece. Here’s some excerpts: ”smart Clark Kent,” “Superman,” “low-profile guru,” “entrepreneur,” “just the guy who arranges the phone calls,” “rising star,” “visionary,” “nothing mysterious about him,” “practices his Beltway-centered trade far outside the Beltway,” “disciple of Ronald Reagan,” “shoots straight,” “honest,” and “keeps his nose clean.”
All the people interviewed in the article were Republicans. There is not a single critic. They also allow Larson to deny he was behind the vicious robo-calls unquestioned.
Heck, they put “Clark Kent” in the headline.
Maybe they’re leaning Coleman instead of Barkley for their endorsement?
Yes, but did they give Larson a free op/ed piece to make his case for himself alongside the news article, unfettered by reporters’ questions, like the Pioneer Press did this week with Michele Bachmann?

In no way, shape, nor form is Kevin Diaz’s puff piece “journalism.”
For those wishing to register their displeasure about this sham of a story, I suggest you contact Nancy Barnes, the Star Tribune’s editor and senior vice president for news:
Phone: 612-673-4951
E-mail: nbarnes@startribune.com
I e-mailed her - and it’s posted over at MnBlue.com
Diaz’s piece is beyond shameful; it’s outrageous.
And it lends credence to Jesse “The Mind” Ventura’s “Media Jackal” ID’s.
And I’d wager a nickel the “credentialed media” defends it, or says nothing about it.
