“It might be possible to dismiss these actions as a customary, yet unfortunate aspect of negative advertising,” said Eric S. Fought, associate communications director of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor party. But he said that he believed viewers would “know what Paulsen and his allies intended with darkening the images of Madia.” The Paulson campaign didn’t return calls.

We are constantly trying to improve NRO for our readers” Fascinating!
More to the point, precisely what does an article in National Review Online about Al Franken that cites Katherine Kersten have to do with the GOP’s race-baiting with Ash Madia’s skin tone in the latest ad? Are you trying to deflect attention from actions that are truly reprehensible? If so, not going to happen. More and more people are becoming aware that the GOP is the party of hate and the very small and shrinking tent.
Thanks GOPGal for providing further evidence that the Republicans cannot win on the issues.
GOPGAL,
To be honest, it would be nice to have, at least one democrat in the Senate to be an agitator and have some chutzpah. We have Amy Klobuchar to work across the aisles for Minnesota, and we will have 60 other Democratic Senators to make deals. We could use another passionate guy, who isn’t afraid to go after the other side. We need a fighter in there. It is all about balance.
The Republicans, obviously, have too many partisan fighters, which is why they are losing. They have no more moderates. It’s all about balance.

Sanders/Franken 2016!
GOPGAL — WHERE’S ERIK?! Erik must have gotten advice from Dick Cheney on how to hide from his record and let others do his dirty work for him. Maybe there’s room for Coleman in that bunker of his, since Coleman has a lot to answer for as well, what with that $75,000 under the table payment to his wife.
I’ll take spirited personality and a Marine Corps Veteran any day over career politicians who appear to be weasels, liars and crooks.
I think that this trick will rank with the infamous “Coya, Come Home” campaign as one of the lowest blows in Minnesota politics (edging out Rudy Boschwitz’s “good Jew” letter, and his later allegations that Paul Wellstone participated in a flag burning).
The PhotoShop techniques used were the exact same ones used in an anti-Paulsen add to make him look less than flattering and blur into the background.
I realize that people could argue that there is a different innuendo when done on someone with darker skin. But in a day and age where Barack Obama is running away with the election in Minnesota, I wouldn’t get my tights in a wad about this as much as you all appear to be.
