We also hear and confirmed that famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view) Minnesota Democrats Exposed blogger Michael Brodkorb has been asked to think about running for Deputy Chair. Those who know Brodkorb’s work know that he would be an exciting pit bull addition to state GOP party leadership.
Exciting pit bull? Really? Did the Republicans learn nothing from their last encounter with a pit bull?
Of course, if the Republicans do elect Michael Deputy Chair, they will be ratifying all of the poison, all of the deception, and all of the Atwaterian/Rovian tactics he has practiced for the last few years. I think the voters have rejected that particular political philosophy over the past couple of election cycles (see Ayers, Bill) but I would be surprised if the Republican hardliners who get to pick the party leadership are able to resist Brodkorb’s siren song. And that is just fine with me.
More by Sean: Alright Michael, you’ve acknowledged on your twitter feed that you’re thinking about running (good use of teh interwebs buddy — you’re going to need it) so, I think that public questions are fair game. So, here’s one. If elected Vice Chair of the MNGOP will you work to ensure a more open meeting policy for the Republican Party of Minnesota. Admittedly they have a liberal interest, but well respected groups like the UpTake have been denied access to Republican Party events — including those that should be as open as possible like your conventions and state central committee meetings. If elected will you work to change this policy to allow for a more transparent and communicative Republican Party?
Pssst Zack, act real scared and like this is a great idea.
Common on now throw them an anchor… the last thing you want is somebody with some charm, intelligence and competence. You do realize with the confusion of the Democratic Big Tent the only way we win elections is because these numbnut Republicans hire, appoint and nominate the looniest they can find in their pack of cannibals. With Broadknob in place and David Strom wearing Pawlenty’s balls as a watchfob we don’t have to work as hard. Just think what the Republicans would be like as opponents with Arnie Carlson in charge.
Brodkorb would be a great addition to state party leadership. Anything you have to say about him boils down to the fact that he is a million times more influential than any of you.
Absolutely, gopgal. Nothing says “leadership” better than someone who responds to criticism and challenges with carefully reasoned responses such as “You’re a fucking liar!”
In fact, can they have him be Communications Director, too?
And, yes, sadly I have none of the influence of Michael Broadkorb. I do, though, have something he’ll never have: a private sector job.
Well, like my grandma always said “people can do whatever they want as long as they don’t do it in the street and scare the horses.” Michael can be deputy chair, in a committed same sex marriage (in two states), or whatever the hell he wants to do, this is America!
Michael Broadcorb is unlikely even to have influence over his own bowels. Certainly, he has no influence over the things he types or says.
PLEASE get him into the republican leadership. The republican brand is not yet completely without credence.
I must add that this would be the kind of genius pick that Palin was for the McCain ticket! Let’s GO!
Yes GOPgal, excellent idea!!! His influence won the state for Mcain!! Oh wait, but his expertise did win the Senate seat for Mark Kennedy in a landslide, oh wait, oh yeah, he helped Norm Coleman to a responding victo…. Crap, what did he do again?
Oh please, please let it be true!!!!!
Ron Carey, Mike Brodkorp and Marty Siefert, a 3 headed hound from Hell, certain to increase the GOP in the Legislature, just like the last 2 elections!
Didn’t Brodkorp help Paulsen wipe the floor with Madia?
Also, I don’t recall Brodkorp doing much for McCain, but he lead the charge against Franken.
Yes, by all means, Michael should be deputy chair. Out with the RINOs! He’ll clean up that Republican party.
That’s a wide grin, for those of you who don’t know me.
I can only hope. This is like the Palin pick all over again. Brodkorp is the perfect face and brain for the MN GOP, perfect.
The Republican party is in ruin because the method they have used to win elections since Willie Horton isn’t working anymore.
The Republican solution?
More of the same wedge issue divisive political b***s***.
Are they expecting a different result in the future? Are they expecting a return of the golden years, when 50.000001% of the people actually thought FOX news was fair and balanced?
Are they going to kill off youtube?
Brodkorb is the perfect representation of Republicans dependent on perception control rather than actual legislative or ideological success. I can’t think of anyone more qualified to represent the trolls in a leadership position.
Great Job, MN GOP.
Nitro, I think they will just pretend youtube doesnt exist and hope it goes away or is at least ignored. I call it, The Bachmann Method.
Teh awesome! More elections about hair!
As I said about Sarah Palin on another local blog - the best pick possible - for Democrats!
Bachmann won in a very bad year for the GOP….. Palin did not hurt the Mccain ticket….. the GOP panty waists are afraid of her..
Maxus: While you’re correct that Bachman won in a very bad year for Republicans, Palin did indeed hurt the McCain ticket….probably the only thing that could have made McCain’s candidacy any more piss-poor than it already was.
Maxus,
Nice spin buddy. Bachmann got less than 50% of the vote in a drastically Republican district. Don’t you get that most people in the 6th did NOT want Bachmann to represent them, and showed that on November 4th? Anyway, the Republican slime machine has destroyed them, and it will only get worse. Real conservatives need someone to represent them, not you thugs and theocrats. I hope, for the sake of honest intellectual debate their is a schism in your fractious party. The theocratic thugs one way, regular conservatives the other.
Good luck, Alec
Brodkorb a pit bull? I hope he wears lipstick!
The early attacks obviously mean that the Left fears MDE.
All of you DFLers who are end zone dancing should see that after all of your “wins” this election, Minnesota wasn’t actually that bright of a light for Dems this cycle.
Parity in the Congressional Delegation, including an awesome new Congressman in Congressman Paulsen who you all wrote off for dead months ago.
A re-elected Senator (yes, I know, I know, the recount. But 300,000 voters checked off Obama and then jumped ship).
A net of two or three in the state house when everyone on the Left was predicting a veto-proof House.
And a Governor whose approval ratings are still through the roof.
And you know what, in each of those elections, MDE loomed large.
I hope he jumps into this race. He’d make a great Deputy Chair.
And then DIDFTL could take over his blogger activities, since Michael would have to shut down MDE.
I don’t fear MDE. I am disgusted by the slime. Our nation figured it out…our state will too.
Looks like the GOPer’s December 6th Central Committee Meeting might be more interesting than previously thought…..
@ DiD4tL
I hope broadcorpse jumps in too. Furthermore, I hope he wins.
Proud Democrat.
LOLOLOLS @ Dumbing It Down For The Left
Great Job!
I am PRAYING that Brodkorb wins the leadership position, for all the reasons in my previous comment.
What a moran.
Guys I have it on good authority that both Al Quieda and the vast monolithic Gay Mafia are in cahoots with the godless liberals to make sure Broadknob is not elected to a position of power within the Republican Party. They fear the effect of this valiant crusader and defender of Minnesota morals will destroy all the hard work they have put into attacking all that is good in this state. Be aware they will do anything to stop his triumphant rise to power. They fear his intellect and astounding ability to communicate to low information voters.
Sarh Pallin would vote for him! After she pardoned him in front of his fellow Republicans.
For the record, I also hope Palin is the republican nominee for president in 2012
Of course, Sarah Palin will still have more executive experience than Obama in 2012, lojasmo.
Hey, if Michael makes it, could you guys do a video similar to this one? It is hilarious and true!
http://www.236.com/video/2008/liberal_ad_thank_you_sarah_pal_10439.php
Thanks Michael!
Now wait!
Here I was led to believe Brodkorb was not a partisan hack climber looking for personal
gain, rather a great humanitarian who comes here to enlighten us.
Oh, I have been misled.
