Voting Fun: Some Long Lines, Republican Stunts, A Power Outage

Steve Perry reports on some very long lines, Chris Steller reports huge turnout near the U of M, while many people use Twitter to report smooth sailing: MinnPost’s David Brauer, MPR’s Sanden Totten, Leif Pettersen, WCCO’s Jason DeRusha. Many have noticed the portable toilets at some polling stations.

A bizarre accident takes out power at two locations in Saint Paul: Dunwoody Recreation Center and Maxfield Magnet School. The UpTake’s Jason Barnett confirms power is coming back up.

MNblue reports on some blatantly illegally-placed lawn signs.

Joe Bodell confirms “Republican City Council candidate Mark Mohr of West St. Paul has appeared at multiple precincts” acting as a poll challenger. Whoops.

Nothing terribly unexpected so far today. If I had one suggestion right now, it would be to get every single person you know that is eligible to vote to vote. It’s beautiful outside too.
