WCCO’s Esme Murphy: Person Who Can Help Coleman Is Quiet

WCCO’s Esme Murphy sums up in her blog what a lot of us have been thinking:

In the flap over a Texas lawsuit that alleges $75,000 was funneled to Norm Coleman’s wife, the person who could set the record straight isn’t talking. That person is Nasser Kazeminy. Mr. Kazeminy has not been returning phone calls to his offices at NJK holdings in Bloomington. His attorney Bob Weinstine is not returning phone calls to his St. Paul office.

It is hard to understand why this long time friend and supporter of Sen. Coleman’s won’t speak out about this matter. It is after all Mr. Kazeminy who is being sued. It is Mr. Kazeminy who allegedly pressured a Texas businessman to make sure the money got to Laurie Coleman.

  • Friendships only go so far. When you are on the receiving end of a lawsuit, it’s CYA. Kazeminy isn’t talking, and was likely advised by his attorney not to talk. That’s SOP during litigation.

  • I use my wife as my Bellweather. She is highly educated professional, who is informed in general, but has a life and is not a junkie/obsessed. If you asked her, she would never even have heard of this story. I fear this story came out too late and on a Friday afternoon. The populace at large will learn about this in a week or two. that’s my fear.
