Brodkorb Hired By Senate Republican Caucus

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

A very reliable source tells MN Publius that the Senate Republican Caucus has hired Michael Brodkorb, of MDE fame, to be their Media Director.  Brodkorb has a long professional relationship with the SRC, having worked for Dick Day in multiple capacities over many years.  The Senate Republicans, who have not controlled the Senate since the reintroduction of partisan caucuses in the 1970’s, constitute only 21 of the 67 seats in the chamber - so Brodkorb has his work cut out for him.

I tried to confirm this with Brodkorb, but was unable to do so.  It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, this will have on the functioning of MDE.

  • That’s GREAT news for John McCain!

  • I guess their standards aren’t very high. I’m shocked.

  • Another treat for Democrats! Thanks to Brobcob for many more years of Democratic majorities!! What a wonderful Christmas gift.

  • Please give him more to do than just media… how about having him be the public spokesperson of both the Taxpayers League AND the Minnesota Republican Party… please.

I’ll have to get busy putting together the quotes of shame that good old Broadknob has provided us over the years… smears, libel and out right lies he we come. And they thought tagging Franken with the pervert writer BS was easy…

  • Gosh. Brodkorb pops in here to shoot off his mouth all the time.
    Why not now?

  • MBB posts on 538.com under the user name “michael” T3H stupid shines through like sunshine. He’ll be the perfect voice for the minnesota senate republican caucus.

  • “It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, this will have on the functioning of MDE.”

Absolutely no effect at all, he will just be getting paid better for it!

Maybe I misunderstand the role of a media director, but how does being a communicator on behalf of a minority party mean he “has his work cut out for him”? It’s not like he’s the MD for the Green Party, an extreme minority.

His job isn’t to legislate, which is difficult when you’re up against a strong majority. His job is to communicate, which isn’t too difficult if you’re from either of the big two parties.

  • What is T3H? Maybe he can be spokesman for the white supremacists at Minnesota Majority as well!

  • You know, here is why I bet they’d hire him. Let’s face it, he played a big role in smearing Franken. Now that the SRC has 21 seats out of 67, an absolutely PITIFUL number, especially for Minnesota. What is wrong with Republicans at totally sucking at the state legislative level. Almost 2/3rd majorities in both chambers is pretty damn Democratic, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts share that title. (Hawaii too maybe?) Look at the company Minnesotans keep us with. HA! Try to MDE your way out of this one SRC.

  • Like this Brod was not on the payroll during MDE blogging before? I thought everyone knows he is a paid piehole.
