This is like coming out at halftime of a basketball game and telling the lovely Erin Andrews, "Yeah, we are down 8, but I really see us winning by 3 to 5 points." If you win, you still look like a pompous jerk. You lose, you look like a fool. Franken's internal count includes the challenged votes they know are valid and will end up being included when all is said and done.
