All it takes is a computer, and a minute or two of your time each day to let your voice be heard. We’ve all worked so hard to make sure Norm Coleman was re-elected on Election Day. [ed: Um, please don’t mind the certified results that prove Franken won the election.]
We’ve got to keep working hard to make sure that he is re-elected…again. [ed: Um, Norm Coleman wasn’t ever re-elected.]
Below, we’ve listed a number of links that you can access online from your computer and the internet. Each and everyone of these publications gives you an opportunity to have your voice heard. And, now, more than ever, we need your voice to be heard.
They call out the Star Tribune comments specifically in the email body, which is likely the worst comments section in the state. To my surprise, they decided to include MNpublius as a place where people parroting the Norm Coleman talking points can “make their voice heard.”
What is this email campaign about? Is it about helping overturn the election results or trying to brainwash people into thinking Coleman won when he didn’t? Don’t mind that the certified election results proved Franken won the election and that the only reason we are in court is to allow Team Coleman to throw a hail mary by trying to disenfranchise voters and count illegally cast ballots. In fact, their desperate, unorganized and abysmal court performance put their court strategy in jeopardy where they couldn’t even tell reporters what they were doing today because they hadn’t discussed it yet.
So yeah, while Team Franken has always, from day one, been about counting every single legal ballot once, Team Coleman has been flip flopping around on what should be counted and what shouldn’t be counted, spreading false rumors about “double counting” and trying to undermine and cast doubt on what was most likely the most transparent and open recount process in the history of public elections. Now Team Coleman has carried over into asking their supporters to comment on blogs and tell people that “Norm won.” How pathetic is this campaign going to get? Coleman supporters, have your say!

I guess that makes MnPublius famous. Bring it on, Coleman supporters.
Like I said before (and in my opinion), Norm would have to prove a lot before he gets a nod. For example, were there corrupt, evil election judges? If that is the case, get them out of there so we really have a voice in future elecitons, and charge them for committing some sort of crime.
But my guess is we’ll see back and forth over little things and this to GO ON AND ON. What’s a recount for, anyway? To see who won. To make sure.
And so this recount goes on and on, like the song that never ends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was… and there’s NO voice for us in the Senate! Stimulus Bill! Crisis!
This is quite an honor for our little MNPublius! Congrats!
Coleman could best serve the people of MN (and his own political future) if he conceded soon. People are already frustrated with this process and if it drags out another 4-6 weeks that frustration will turn to lasting anger and resentment. Do us all a favor Norm, don’t be a sore loser, face the facts and move on. You lost, get over it and let the healing begin. Thanks.
— The people of Minnesota
Just so I have this straight - The current pile of rejected absentee ballots have been reviewed multiple times by county election officials to verify their illegitimacy, and now Coleman is asking the 3 judge panel to again review perhaps thousands of rejected absentee ballots. Is that the nub of what is going on right now?
President Obama and Senator Franken. God Bless America!!
That’s exactly what’s going on “the other scott”
Senator Coleman, Rep. Bachmann has been embarrassment enough for us Minnesotans. Please get down off the podium, let the votes stand and let Mr. Franken go to Washington.
Jane,
That would be FORMER Senator Coleman.
Thank you for the heartfelt welcome, Aaron. We (Coleman supporters, Franken supporters, and Barkley supporters) share a common goal: Ensuring that votes were counted consistently per the state election guidelines, regardless of which county they were cast in.
The last thing we would want is for someone to think they participated in our democracy only to find that their voice was not heard!
Thanks again for such a warm welcome. I know that we all are so passionate about our respective politics because we share a love of our nation!
You forgot about Lizard People supporters.
Dantheman is getting passionate.
I love politics. It’s never dull.
People are still paying attention to what FORMER Senator Coleman says or thinks?
Precious.
After having spent about 3 hours sitting next to the head of the Minnesota Taxpayers League, David Strom during the recount, I can assure you that it was fair, transparent and monitored by both campaigns. Even when one of the two observers from each campaign went to the bathroom, recount stopped and we waited for a full compliment of observers.
So I think we need to let David Strom know that his Republican masters (or whoever in that relationship is the “top”) that they think he is either completely incompetent or a DFL stooge. And make sure to tell the other Republicans who dedicated their time to the recount that it was completely wasted because GOP leadership thinks they are either fools or crooks.
If Minnesota comes out on the short end of the Stimulus Package we know which party to blame… the GOP obstructionist lead by Norm the Weasel Coleman.
Minnesota is slated to get 3.3 billion, last I saw.
Funny thing is, Republican leadership in Congress is telling their caucus to vote NO on the stimulus package. But Pawlenty-of-Deficits announced today he was counting on filling those potholes in his budget with money from the stimulus package. So does the right hand know what the far right hand is doing in that trainwreck of a party anymore?
Pawlenty’s attitude is “if this quagmire is going to pass, then Minnesota needs to get in line for a share of the money.”
If he were a Senator responsible for the nation’s purse, I suspect he would vote ‘no’ on this bailout, because:
1. It is full of pork. If you couldn’t get something for your district passed in 07 or 08, just add it to the bill and, voila!, you’re done
2. An amazingly small piece of it will actually help fix the credit crisis. The credit crisis is the problem that needs to be fixed right now.
DtM,
I agree that the credit crisis is the real problem. My concern is that the credit crisis is caused by the depression of wages. The last 7 yer business cycle saw the very first time in history that the economy grew but wages did not. Under this supply side nightmare, wealth really has been distributed and only the few at the top have benefited from the increased productivity of workers.
The bottom line is that wages drive demand, and demand drives job creation. With wages being depressed by de-regulation and anti-labor laws, the the only way to stabilize demand was to make credit easier and easier to get. The powers that be needed the working class to keep spending, so they encouraged more and more borrowing, sometimes irresponsibly. The only way out of the credit crisis is to increase wages, and return some power to the middle class.
So, yeah, we are in a credit crunch, but that is because the corporate elites and supply side economics have made it impossible t maintain demand without credit. A return to a strong labor movement will return us to the days when people actually owned their homes and their cars. Hopefully.
Take care,
Alec
I can’t imagine being a Norm Coleman supporter and actually doing what his team is asking. It would be so demeaning and embarassing. If he doesn’t have the grace to back away gently and quietly, I would think many of his supporters do. At least the polls seem to indicate so - the percent saying he should concede is greater than the percentage who voted for his opponents.
And the Republican lies just keep coming around… again and again even as they are debunked.

Read that claptrap and then give your opinion to this blowhard. Every lie that has been thrown up by the GOP in this election has come to roost in this piece. Including insulting Minnesotans as not having the proper government to fairly hold an election. He goes so far as to insult us with left handed compliments.
Does the Minnesota Republican Party know what damage they are doing to themselves with this? Do they care they are being sacrificed by the national leadership?
Agree strongly with Alec. I would also add unemployment to the mix. I have two co-workers who’s husbands have recently lost their jobs. This is the first time I have experienced this in my adult lifetime. Bad news indeed for them.
Also, I botched the poll. I chose option B, when I meant A.
More On Coleman:

Alec - you are right. The numbers don’t lie, incomes overall haven’t been increasing. Actually, higher incomes have been increasing, lower incomes have not. But with India, Mexico, China, and Eastern Europe competing for those low-wage jobs, should we even fight that battle? let’s train our workforce to be qualified for the mid and high tier jobs, the ones that are harder to outsource.
government money spent improving the education of its people is a wise investment. government money spent padding the incomes of its people is not even an investment, it is an expense.
As someone in the business world, I won’t defend corporations. That is where most of the corruption occurs, and where you see compensation that is dramatically out of line with the output of that person. But I would defend the private companies in the private sector. Typically, those companies are treating their employees like family, many owners are spending 2009 making no income rather than cutting longtime staff, and the owners of these companies only make a great income when they’ve had a great year. Pay for performance. it happens in private companies.
Let’s just be careful not to group the thousands of great private american companies with some of the corrupt and entitlement-driven corporations.
Oh man! Normie’s own witness ends up clearly showing that his ballot was correctly rejected!!!! Ooooooooops!
Correctly rejected… of course, all of those precious ballots were sorted through and through… during the recount. If they were to be admitted, you can bet Norm (or Franken, for that matter) jumped at having them be included.
In other words, here we go again. Look at this copy, and this one, and this one…
And as to labor, if I am not mistaken, middle class income has gone down if you factor in all economic aspects.
We are a service based economy, yes? Manufacturing has slowly been outsourced?
One more thing about the ballots — early in the recount we heard about active duty soldiers who had their ballots rejected for timing issues, etc. I’d like Franken to take up that issue after this is over. For the next election and all afterwards, we should have a better system for those soldiers.
“Does the Minnesota Republican Party know what damage they are doing to themselves with this? Do they care they are being sacrificed by the national leadership?”
amuseinc — Thanks for your deep concern for the Republican party and their self destructive actions (you wish). If judgements start stacking up against Coleman and victory looks dismal, I would say only then should he consider the race lost. But until that day, I say take it all the way and keep up the worthy fight. Since a single vote in the Senate could help to stave off the dangerous policies coming down the pipe, it is of utmost importance to conservatives across America.
Cman I’m being less the jerk than you think. Do a little “mother-in-law” research or rather outside the family. Have lunch or dinner in someplace you don’t normally go… any average diner would do. Asl people what they think of “Norm Coleman” without giving a hint to your own beliefs.
For bonus points ask about who is responsible for the “bad economy”… I’ve done this in midsized city Minnesota without prejudicing the answers and your average nonpolitically focussed Minnesotan hates Norm Coleman, Republicans caused the domestic economy and while Franken is not loved he “squeaked in.”
The GOP is in deep trouble in Minnesota and either don’t know it or don’t care.
What you are describing isn’t astroturf. Astroturf is when you have a shell organization that pretends to be grassroots. In Coleman’s case, he’s trying to encourage his elist of supporters to comment on blogs. If it’s proven that there are multiple sock-puppets, linked to Coleman’s campaign commenting - and using multiple identities - then, that’s true astroturf.
If a campaign is able to organize their supporters to comment on blogs, and to call into talk radio - in my opinion, they are showing some organization.
