Warren Buffet, a man who knows something about how Wall Street works, certainly seems to think the Republican have been harming the economy:
“The message has to be very, very clear as to what government will be doing, and I think we’ve had, and it’s the nature of the political process somewhat, but we’ve had muddled messages and the American public does not know,” he said. “They feel they don’t know what’s going on, and their reaction then is to absolutely pull back.”
…
“I think the minority has, they really do have an obligation to support things that in general are clearly designed to fight the war in a big way… I think that the Republicans have an obligation to regard this as an economic war and to realize you need one leader and in general support of that.”
That last bit is kind of extreme. I don’t think the Republicans have an obligation to support Obama no matter what, but they do have an obligation to think about the consequences of their actions. Is winning a few seats in the House in 2010 worth a continuing economic collapse?

You can’t be serious (although I know you are)! I don’t think it is the Republicans sending the wrong message to Wall Street, it is the administration. I’d like to see a poll of Wall Street to see the truth. You missed the part about Buffet saying it will be hard for the Republicans to support Obama when he is trying to stuff everything but the kitchen sink down their throats. You want cooperation? Concentrate on the economy and not every left leaning entitlement known to man in this time of economic crisis.
C”Man”,
“it will be hard for the Republicans to support Obama”
It will be impossible for outrage addicted Republicans to support Obama because they have been trained to think Liberals are 100% wrong on every issue, every time, while Republicans are 100% correct on every issue, every time. They are OUTRAGED.
Republicans have a self-imposed black and white world view.
This view has not been proven effective at leading a diverse nation.
The GOP 11 point strategy for success.

I disagree with you (hard to believe). I think if Obama would back his campaign promises (which now appears to be just rhetoric), and concentrate on the economy, he would have partial support which is all he needs. By the way when I say live up to his campaign promises, I mean the “no more ear marks” pledge and the “new tone” in Washington. Instead the “in your face” politics he is playing leaves the majority of Republicans with no choice.
Perhaps, C “Man”, getting in your familiar right wing face is warranted, considering the behavior of the right over the last month. That behavior is disappointing, but is certainly what I fully expected from the right.
There will be no new tone in Washington when Washington is chock full of right wing political game players. Unfortunately for you righties, the games are being seen as games by your fellow Americans, and I think it’s going to be difficult for Republicans considering their strategists are a bunch of idiots who think more of the same is the way forward.
Tom Tomorrow nails you people.
“Sigh”. Nitro — You are a good example of what I speak of. The jist of this blog is that Warren Buffet came out and warned the Republicans that they are the ones harming the economy. You passed right over the fact that he also warned Obama that forcing too much at the same time during an economic crisis was not sending the right message to the markets. Warren Buffet is all about making money. He wants the proper diagnosis and policy to right the ship, and in my opinion, he thinks that a mix of both whats coming from the right and the left is the probable answer. But, you my friend, are the pot calling the kettle black. It is obvious that you embrace the “in your face” politics and do not have a bi-partisan bone in your body.
“Republicans’ political games” are no different that games Democrats played while in the opposition minority:

Democrats wanted Bush to fail during dire times, and nobody made a fuss about it. The Dems have the majority. Stop fussing about the opposition, and start leading.
