“This legislation would ensure that the U.S. dollar remain the currency of the United States.”
Thank god. I was afraid I was going to have to convert all of my money to Yen.
Bachmann is so good at finding common-sense solutions to non-existent problems. I hope she’ll continue to introduce similar legislation. Perhaps she could introduce bills to:
- Ensure that Slavic does not become the official language of the U.S.
- Prohibit the U.S. from selling Minnesota to Canada
- Stop toddlers from operating heavy machinery
What other causes would you like to see Bachmann working on?

you comment shows you ignorance and that you don’t think this could happen, if the doller no longer has value other governments will ask for a World currancy. Like China since they are borrowing the US Money “does Orwell 1984 ring a bell” or are you to young to know what that is? Better go back to school.

Oh, the incredible irony!
Whats Wrong??? Cant any one come up with a lucid well thought out responce?????
Ok, I think we need to make a rule that you have to have completed the 3rd grade to post in this blog.
Marc, do you have any idea how many errors are in your first post?
“You comment shows you ignorance…”
“currancy”
“are you to young”
So saying someone should “go back to school” is pretty absurd. That’s what “irony” means. Why don’t YOU go back to school, and come back when you can write a complete sentence.

So saying someone should “go back to school” is pretty absurd. That’s an example of irony.
Why don’t YOU go back to school, and come back when you can write a complete, coherent sentence.
Well, on Tuesday she asked Geithner and Bernanke about this (it’s at 1:50 in this clip, after the whole farce where she asks for an explicit constitutional provision directly empowering Treasury and the Fed and they talk implicitly about the provision directly empowering Congress to authorize Treasury and the Fed), and if they would categorically denounce moving to a world currency. They both said yes. Now, it’s entirely possible she thinks they both lied to her, especially in light of the much more widely publicized hash that Geithner made of answering more or less the same question on Wednesday.
Now, suppose she’s right that there’s a possibility of a switch from the dollar to a world currency happening. There would definitely be a transaction cost involved in printing all those new pieces of colored paper and minting all those new coins, relabeling all the products on store shelves, and recalculating everybody’s wages and everything else - mortgage payments, airfare, tax brackets, you name it - to be in the new currency. Ok, so that’s a reason not to do it. Other than that… so the monetary unit changes. So what? The name on the little slip of colored paper changes - why’s that matter? Of course, most money isn’t in the form of those little slips of paper… so when WellsFargo and USBank and SunTrust and every other bank waves their magic wands and creates money ex nihilo with their fractional reserve banking, they’ll be inflating the supply and diluting the value of WorldMonetaryUnits instead of inflating the supply and diluting the value of UnitedStatesDollars. That matters… why?
And what in the hell does it have to do with 1984?
Do you want your life controlled by the Government? Do you Like the USA or is the Name Just a piece of paper like the constitution? Are you a leader or a follower? and to Pete, I have a secretary that proofs my documents. I concern my self with the words written, not my grammar, You must be someones secretary “what a laugh” its shows instead of addressing the issue, you do something else what a piece of Sh**.

Marc, whether I want the government to control my life or not, replacing one fiat currency with another fiat currency isn’t going to have any impact on whether it does or not. Dollars, Pounds, Euros, Guilders, Wampum, Denarii, Petrified Cow Pies - it just doesn’t matter what the money is, as long as it can be exchanged for goods and services.
As to America and the Constitution… look, the Constitution sets up a particular structure for a jurisdictional entity called the United States of America. It’s a flawed design and it’s always been a flawed design. Some of the original flaws are still there, some have been resolved but replaced by new flaws through amendments. That’s why people propose new amendments constantly (I write 2-3 letters a year to Congress asking for new ones and I’m in the process of writing a whole new Constitution). Plus, the actual product from that design - the United States of America as they actually are at this point in time - well let’s just say the manufacturing tolerances were a bit lax and America as it is isn’t the same as the Constitution states America is supposed to be. End result: America is an imperfect nation. This is unsurprising, as all nations are imperfect at the present time. As things stand, I think staying in America and trying to fix it makes more sense and better serves my interests than swapping America’s imperfections for another country’s and then trying to change that country. However, like I said, that’s just as things stand. It could be that America worsens to the point that it becomes a case of America delinda est. It could be that another country simply improves faster than America until at that point in time, moving there and then trying to change it makes more sense than continuing to try changing America. I don’t know - if those were to happen, they’d be in the future and I can’t tell you what’ll happen in the future.
Regardless, “liking” the USA doesn’t enter the picture.
I am hoping for some more stronger and effective language on those plastic caps for hot drinks that read “Caution: Contents may be hot”
Hail King Obama
Wrong country, dude
We absolutely need a law which prohibits Black Helicopters with the United Nations logo from landing in residentially zoned areas of cities over 50,000 population.
I wonder if is has something to do with this:

I second Bachmann’s proposal and add another. I propose legislation to continue recognizing the borders of the United States.
Perhaps she should NOT have helped tank the dollar.
What exactly does this do? Not much.
Batshit CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY “Nutjob” (not the first word to come to mind).
And it might have something to do with this:

Most likely — Michele’s bill rallies a certain base of people who think world government is evil, and a sign of the coming apocolypse.
No joke.
We’d better start researching.
Who has seen the movie Jesus Camp? I haven’t yet, but we’ll be Netflixing it, soon. (We can only afford really cheap entertainment around here).
I wonder if apocolyptic theory is covered in Jesus Camp? I hope I can make it through the movie.
