Michael Brodkorb’s Irrational Personal Vendetta Against Mark Ritchie, pt. 2

Last November, Matt wrote about Michael Brodkorb’s bizarre obsession with Secretary of State Mark Ritchie:

…there’s something more with Michael’s vile hatred for Secretary of State Ritchie.  Something that I can’t put my finger on.  Is it just the reality of a DFL SoS that stokes Michael’s fire, is it Ritchie’s determination to make sure everyone in Minnesota can vote, did he just really like Mary Kiffemeyer?

Now that he’s Deputy Chairman of the GOP, Brodkorb is bringing his irrational hatred with him, in the form of a senseless attack on Ritchie a full 16 months before the election. This is just another in a series of bizarre attacks. After all, 16 months before the election, who cares? The only reason for the attack is because Brodkorb seems unable to control his rage; it certainly doesn’t make political sense.

Matt suggested a few reasons for Brodkorb’s hatred of Ritchie. I really don’t care what his reasons are; I’m more interested in his inability to get over it. It was one thing wasting his own time and resources on discredited attacks against Ritchie, but it boggles the mind that he’s managed to drag the entire Republican party into his vendetta. Does the GOP, given the huge challenges it faces, really want to spend its money satisfying Michael Brodkorb’s whims?

I suppose I should be thankful they’re throwing away their money. I guess it’s just said to see the last vestiges of a moderate, rational GOP disappearing.

  • Really, did anybody on the right even bother to read the Election Contest Court’s opinion? They spoke directly to the integrity of the election and the manner in which it was conducted.

Oh, I keep forgetting. Brodkorb’s words are reality-free.

  • Well, MudSlingerMike (“MSM”) is simply demonstrating, once again, that today’s GreedOverPrinciples party simply makes (stuff) up.

But, give MSM some credit; he does know how to get the Dead Tree Media (“DTM” - but, not to be confused with DanTheMan) to cover his pressers…..

  • Michael, stand your ground soldier… don’t listen to these liberals.

(Think he’ll buy it? Mark Ritchie came through this smelling like a rose. On TV he was clear and to the point with his only concern being not the final outcome for any particular candidate but for the honesty of the process. Anybody who participated in the recount saw good government in action with Ritchie at the helm. Minnesotans noticed his calm demeanor which bodes well for his political future.

The Republican base may have enjoyed the Coleman Failure Drag-Ass campaign but most Minnesotans did not. Who can get behind a big waste of money, insults from national Republican leaders and dragging our traditionally clean government state through the mud. Go after Ritchie and you will keep reminding voters that it was the Republican Party that kept us from full representation in the Senate for months with Rush Limbaugh and Republican leaders taking daily potshots at us as voters and citizens. As it dragged on DFLers just got more determined and independents got more pissed.

  • I was pleased to see Brodkorbs elevation to ass. chair. His skill set is sure to accelerate the MN GOP into frothing at the mouth oblivion. The whole Karl Rove thing doesn’t work anymore and Brodkorb is too blind to see it.

  • It’s because Mark has integrity, and Michael is jealous.

  • Nothing should surprise you from someone who leaves death threats and links to kiddie porn on their blog comments indefinitely. MDE = More Dung & Excrement.

  • The GOP has one card to play - and that is hatred.

    Why? They are THAT bereft.
    Ideas mean risks.

  • Can you provide more than just speculation that the GOP’s latest effort to expose Ritchie is driven solely by Brodkorb?
