The GOP says they will be running ads against Collin Peterson, although it’s unclear how much they will be spending. The only way this makes sense is if they’re just baiting reporters to give them free coverage; I can’t imagine that they’re really so brain-addled that they’re going to spend a significant sum of money on ads over 15 months before the election.
I keep wondering if the new GOP leaders actually have a plan, launching a string of negative attacks when nobody at all cares. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. This can’t be as stupid as it seems, can it?

The MNGOP still has not figured out that the strategy of negativity resulted in MORE, not less, Democrats getting elected in Minnesota since 2004.
Looks like Team Sutton/Brodkorb are using the MNGOP playbook used by Team Carey.
Gee…I guess someone will have to get that memo to moveon.org and the other liberal hate groups out there.
Say, Guy? Those lefty groups aren’t nearly as good at slingin’ mud, as the GreedOverPrinciples party is…

Oh, and Jeff?
“FEC Tony and MudSlingerMike, in 2009” will be the answer to the future trivia question:
“Who ran the first negative campaign ad for the 2010 election?”
“Down And Dirty” - that’s the GOP.
Does this come as any surprise after making Michael Brodkorb one of the party leaders? I suspect that “attack mode” is all we’re going to see from the MN GOP. Remember, Brodkorb is the man who peddled any negative utterance about Democrats- regardless of their factual accuracy- on his website. Personally, I find his brand of politics just low and pathetic and a real comment on his ethical core (or lack thereof). I never expected anything good from his elevation as a party leader, and I believe that the fundamental rancor in his character will do the GOP little good.
Given that Michelle Bachmann could still get reelected after calling Obama anti-American two weeks before the election, I don’t think Peterson’s comments in July 2009 are going to be much of an issue in November 2010.
I suspect Michael “Chicken Suit” Brodkorb is just flapping his wings and squawking for press attention like he usually does. But if he’s really serious about wasting his party’s money in the 7th District, that’s fine with me.
Maybe Brodkorb is a truther trying to raise awareness of the cause.
But seriously, I found this link where he says the spending on the off timed negative ads are “in the 5 figure range”. http://www.minnpost.com/cynthiadizikes/2009/07/29/10569/update_gop_begins_radio_ad_campaign_against_peterson
“5 figure” to someone like MudSlingerMike is anything south of $999.99
rightwingers always say you can’t believe anything the MSM says; MudSlingerMike is proof of that.
Peterson should be primaried, as should every blue dog in solidly democratic districts.
