El, who will you be endorsing and when can they expect to hear from you?
Update: I am hearing that AFSCME Council 5 has endorsed Tarryl Clark for Congress in CD6. This is a huge benefit for the Clark campaign, and perhaps part of the reason Tinklenberg has withdrawn his name.

What happened to “I’m in it to win it” and “My new campaign manager has a history of defeating Republican incumbents.”???
I got a fundraising email from him less than a week ago!
Far run from going to the primary like he said earlier.
I hope it was not the AFSCME endorsement that took him out. I am so sick and tired of public employee union domination of DFL caucusses I could spit.
Why do Democrats ( I am one ) have to support the idea of public employee unions running the government?
It is as bad as allowing the GOP corporate party to run the government. When are citizens supposed to be heard?
Bobt-
It wasn’t the union endorsement. He skipped the forum at which the candidates were vetted. So they only had Reed or Clark to consider.
Unions are one of the best, most consistent supporters of Democrats though, so of course they have sway with the party.
Public employee unions dominate the caucuses because they do a good job of turning people out to them. Decisions are made by those who show up. That simple. Of course, public employee unions have the advantage that their members essentially get to vote for their bosses and that makes it a little easier to turn people out.
Personally, I attend a caucus that doesn’t have a lot of union members in it, so we don’t wield much power there.
Frankly, I think Minnesota’s Democratic delegation as a whole pretty closely matches their districts. I think the system is working pretty good.
