Conservatives overestimate anti-health rally attendance by a factor of 30

This weekend, the folks that brought you the Tea Parties held an anti-health care rally in Washington, D.C. ABC News and the Washington Post estimated the crowd in the “tens of thousands” — between 60,000 and 70,000. By the time it reached conservative whacko-blogger Michelle Malkin, though, it was reported as 2 million — which would have made the rally the largest event ever on the mall.

The process was like a giant game of conservative telephone. As the news spread around, the estimate slowly grew and grew. Conservatives showed an impressive ability to misinterpret evidence about the real turnout.

My personal favorite was Gateway Pundit, who compared pictures of the conservative rallies and Obama’s inauguration, claiming that conservatives were clean while liberals were “filthy.” GP draws a ludicrous conclusion:

The democrats were obviously waiting for Big Government to clean up for them.

Either that, or the anti-health crowd was less than 4 percent of the inauguration crowd. We call that willful ignorance. It’s quite typical of the tea-party and anti-health care movement.

  • I would have liked to see a larger turnout. Oh well, who cares? Hey, by the way, did you see the public option is dead?

  • Yeppers, Civil Rights, Medicare, ans Social Security will never pass either.

  • Instead of spending all your time talking about how America loves the Democrat party’s agenda, how about you pass your agenda? Its not like we can stop you. You guys run everything. Put up or shut up.

  • BUSTED!!!

PELOSI HAS FUNDRAISER WITH UNITED HEALTH AS DEMS KILL PUBLIC OPTION

A tip of the hat to progressive blogs for exposing the selling of votes that has become all to common in Washington over the last 10 to 15 years.

  • More info on the death of the public option. From ABCNEWS.

Senator Mary L. Landrieu, the Democrat from Louisiana, joined that chorus on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” arguing that a government-run health plan would “undermine the private insurance system that she said covered 55 percent of insured Americans.

“Let’s not revise the whole system, let’s build on its strengths,” she said.

  • Hey quick look over there so you won’t see the silly sad sacks of the Tea Klux Klan. (Tip of the hat to Wonkette)

  • I suppose if you’d like to talk about tea parties instead of Democrats killing the public option, thats your choice.

  • “Let’s not revise the whole system, let’s build on its strengths,” she said.
Sounds pretty close to what Obama has been saying since the campaign…

Who cares what you call it…if we end up with all Americans having access to quality…affordable health care/coverage?

99% of the deep thinking tea baggers can’t get beyond the socialism = public option = Hitler = born in Kenya

And what makes that so extra funny is that 99% of the dumb fuck tea bagging conservatives can’t tell you the difference between socialism and cannibalism.

“Oh my God!…I just found out my Medicare plan is that dark sided “SINGLE PAYER! socialism voodoo!”

  • “Hey, by the way, did you see the public option is dead?”

Hey…by the way…did you see that the GOP is dead?
