I have lost multiple jobs due to my sexual orientation. I have lost jobs for people thinking I have HIV. This has gone on for 13 years since I have moved to North Carolina. I have been out of work for five out of the last ten years. I do not know who I am anymore. I am so scared of losing my current job due to my sexual orientation and perceived HIV status. I am negative but some employers think otherwise. I work with young adults and so many people think you are a child molester if you are a gay male or you may turn the kids gay. If I get fired again, I will keep my head up high and go on! I wish they told me in college if you are gay you do not have the same opportunities as your straight peers.
