Two nights ago, Stewart busted Fox News’s Sean Hannity for using old videos to attempt to inflate the size of Michele Bachmann’s health reform protests. It was pretty classic — watching Stewart compare Bachmann’s protest to Hannity’s videos, it was obvious Hannity had gotten it wrong. Note to Hannity: If you’re trying to inflate the numbers of a rally that took place in the fall, don’t use video taken in the summer. It turns out that the leaves change colors; that’s kind of a giveaway.

There was nothing left for Hannity to do but apologize, which he does like a bit of a jerk because he’s Sean Hannity.



I think the way that their show is put together allows them this sort of analysis — they basically use a pile of tivos to record all the major shows and the writers review all of them to find funny stuff. Most news networks are too busy generating their own news to bother with this is my guess.
